We ran down the street, weapons in hand and our packs on our backs, bouncing every time our foot made contact with the cold asphalt. We made a right turn, and we ran up behind
an old supermarket. Cars and shopping carts laid scattered across the parking lot, giving an
eerie and suspenseful feel in the atmosphere. We ran up behind the loading dock and next to a
door. I wiggled the doorknob and pulled the door to me. A large bang echoed in the loading
area.

"Shhh! Don't be so loud." Sky hissed.

" Shit! The door's locked."

"Ok, so let's go around front and break the glass."

"Bad idea. If we can get this door open, we have a chance of boarding it up if we have to.
Breaking the glass doors or windows... it's just not a good idea. Also, it be best if we try to
stay hidden, so stay away from the glass windows." I glanced around the loading area, hoping

"Did you see any of them inside?"

"The roamers? No, i couldn't see any from the windows."

"I've heard that before." I heard Sky mutter. I let it slide and it took every ounce of will not to hit in the back of the head with the sharp edge of the crowbar.

From the other side of the door, I could hear faint breathing and small rough groans.

"Something is in there. Doesn't sound like that many though."

"Great." Sky cocked his gun and aimed it at the door. "Get ready."

I gently pushed his gun down. "Let's not use our guns unless we necessarily have to. I don't want to attract more, like that herd we had in Mauriceville."

Sky thought about it for a second. " You're right." He put his gun away, and strongly grasped
the steel pipe. I looked at him and nodded. With all my strength, i pulled back on the crowbar until the door popped open slightly. I threw down the crowbar and grabbed my bat.

"On the count of three." I gripped the handle of my bat tight.

"One... two..."

I grabbed the door handle.

"Three!" I swung the door open and we ran inside
