"John...." I turned me head around slowly in the rain. Alex stood behind me, a hand on my shoulder. Out if anger I threw his hand off.
"You didn't even know him!!" I yelled with all my might. I spun around shedding a tear as I did so. I was faced with the coffin that held Herc. Rain poured down through my hair, and tears ran through the cloth of shirt. I held Lafayette who sobbed into the material. The coffin was originally a closed, but everyone had left now, and only Me, Lafayette and Alex remained. We decide to open it. I wish we wouldn't have.
Laf was hysterical when he found out. So was everyone. I told Alex to smile more, he didn't... It's been two weeks. Mr. Washington was okay with us skipping class. He knew Hercules as well.
"Buttering is a two hand job..." I muttered to myself to make me feel better. Something told me it wouldn't, but I said it anyway. Rain drops hit my shoulders, and sink into my shirt. I always hated the rain....
I woke up next to Alex sweating. Alex was sleeping peacefully, and it was dark outside. I wiped the sweat from my forehead. The funeral plays in my mind over and over. I look down at my hands, expecting to see a black string like Lafayette's.
However, my string glowed a bright red in the darkness. I let out a sigh and stood up out of the small bed that held both of us. I walked to the small dresser held by the door way, and opened it. There, his beanie laid. I picked it up, rubbing the material with my thumb.
It's soft fabric was weaved together. I felt tears starting in my eyes. I pushed them back, and sniffled. He was gone... I couldn't help it, tears rolled down my face. Memories of us together played through my mind. The movies, ice skating... I squeezed his beanie. I felt a hand on my shoulder and spun around.
"Alex?" I called out in the dark between a sob. I didn't need to see his face to know it was him. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me into a hug.
"John..." He whispered. Even though I couldn't see him, I know he was crying. I buried my face in his shoulder, letting out a soft cry. He rubbed circles in my back, holding me. For a moment, Hercules didn't matter. From that moment on, no body said anything. We just knew. I slowly felt myself distancing myself from others. The only other I would talk to was Alex. I smiled with him, talked with him. He was there. He was trying really hard to make everything normal again, or at least happy. Every morning he would wake me up the same. Just like today.
"Johhhhnnnn.... Wake up sleepy head." I heard him say softly, giggling to himself. I opened my eyes and saw Alex sitting on top of me, strands of his black hair falling onto my face. I smiled, tucking one of the strands behind his ears.
"Good morning my love." I said close enough to his face to tease him. He giggled, slapping my arm.
"Stop teasing me!" He giggled.
"Never!" I replied, bringing my lips almost to his, then pulling away. He pouted, gripping the front of my tee shirt.
"Two can play this game." Be ginned before bringing his face to mine, planting a kiss on the corner of my smile before pulling away smirking.
"You bastard!" I yelled laughing. He shushed me, and brought his face to mine, kissing me gently. I cupped his cheek, and kissed him deeper. He let out a soft groan, and pulled away smiling.
"Why are you so good at that?" He asked, chuckling.
"Because I am!" I replied. He smiled and I rolled over in my bed. I grabbed my phone and began scrolling through Twitter mindlessly.
"John?" I heard Alex call out.
"Hm?" I replied as I sent a tweet to Lime Mirandea.
"John..." He called out again. I put my phone down sighing.
"Yeah- Oh...." My face flushed a deep red as Alex took his shirt off. He smiled and continued to do the nastiness to me.
(I don't write smut, so that's what I came up with)
Six months we have been dating, that was our first time. I smiled and rolled over, cuddling into Alex. "I love you."
