Patrick
I walk out of the studio, looking for one of my friends. I find Isaiah Washington leaning against the wall, smoking a cigarette. I smirk and walk toward him. I grab the cigarette out of his mouth and throw it on the ground.
"What the hell?" Isaiah asks.
"We all decided to stop. Together. I'm holding you to that." i tell him. He rolls his eyes and smirks.
"Fine. I'm gonna need some sex then." he says. I give him a weird look and take a step back.
"Not with you! Gross! I meant in general. It's helping me quit." he says as he blushes madly.
I laugh and begin to walk to my trailer.
"Oh, Dempsey!" Isaiah shouts. I turn around and look at him.
"Ellen was trying to find you earlier. I think she is in her trailer now." he says. I thank him with a wave and walk toward Ellen's trailer.
Knocking gently, i wait patiently for her to answer. When i don't hear anything, I slowly turn the handle of her door. It's unlocked.
I quietly walk in and wait for my eyes to adjust to the darkness. I close the trailer door and lock it. Walking into her bedroom, I see her small form under the sheets, breathing deeply. Her hair is sprawled out across her pillow and a strap on her thin nightgown is hanging off of her shoulder.
I walk up to her bed and smile as i watch her sleep. I crouch down to where she can't see my face. I cover her mouth with my hand and grab her shoulders quickly. Her eyes pop open and her hands go up to my hand in fright.
"You should really lock your door, Ellie." i whisper into her ear. She visibly relaxes as she hears my voice. I remove my hands from her and sit on the edge of her bed.
She pushes me and i fall off of the bed to the ground.
"You scared the hell out of me Patrick!" she shouts. I laugh and sit back on the bed. She rolls her eyes but smiles at me nonetheless.
"Im serious though. Lock your door." I tell her seriously. She smiles at me softly.
"Are you scared?" she asks.
"I'm worried about you. Will you do it?" i ask. She looks away as if thinking about it.
"For me?" I ask.
"Fine. For you." she says, sighing. I smile and maneuver myself over her to the other side of the bed. I lay on my stomach, facing her.
"Isaiah told me that you needed to talk to me." I tell her.
"Ah, yes. I saw Jill today. She was looking for you. Said something about dinner tonight. And how you're going to forget about it."
"Shit!" I say, getting off of the bed and checking my watch. I'm already three hours late. I grab my phone and see the missed calls and thirteen texts.
"I'll be right back." I tell Ellen. I dial Jill's number and she picks up on the second ring.
You forgot.
"I know I did. I'm really sorry!"
Don't say sorry to me. Say sorry to your girls. I'm used to you flaking on me but they aren't.
Before i can say anything else, she hangs up on me. Sighing, I slide my phone into my pocket and walk back into Ellen's room. She covered herself with a robe while I was gone and is not sitting on the edge of her bed.
"How did it go?" she asks.
"Badly. She hung up on me before I could say much."
"I'm sorry. I should've found you." Ellen says.
"It's my fault. I'm very forgetful." I tell her.
"Well that's just one small flaw. It's forgivable." she says. I smirk at her.
"One small flaw, huh? Do i have any other flaws?" I ask. She giggles and gives me my favorite lopsided smile.
"Yes. But don't ask me to name them." she says. I chuckle and stand up.
"I should probably go home...or to my trailer." i tell her. She stands up and walks me to the door.
"Alright. See you later Pat." she says. I lean down and give her a short, tight hug, before reluctantly letting her go. I walk outside and watch her shut the door. I wait for a few seconds before i hear the sound of the lock. Smiling, i walk down the road to my trailer for a good night's sleep.
_______________

I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing.
"Hello?" I answer sleepily.
Oh thank god! You're alive. Jill says with relief. I sit up and check the time. 5 o'clock.
"Yeah. Wait what? Why did you think i was dead?"
You didn't come home last night and someone was murdered near the studio last night. They didn't release any names and i thought it might have been you.
"No I'm alright. You were worried?" I ask, surprised.
Of course! If you died, then i would have to take care of the kids all by myself. Though i guess it wouldn't be much of a change. I roll my eyes and sigh.
I gotta go. Talk to you later.
She hangs up shortly after that. Love you too. I think to myself bitterly. I jog out of my trailer, the chill morning air waking me up. I look around me and see police officers walking through the woods behind the trailer. Feeling creeped out, i jog to the studio.
There is a crowd surrounding a small television and i spot Ellen in the back of the crowd. I walk over and stand by her, catching a glimpse of what has caught everyone's attention.
They are all watching the news which is covering the murder that Jill called me about.
The murderer had raped a young girl and killed her before running into the woods near the trailers. The police are searching for him but they haven't found him yet.
"He's still out there Patrick. What if he gets one of us?" Ellen asks. I look down at her and see her staring at the tv with her arms across her chest and a scared look on her face.
"I won't let anything happen to you El." I tell her quietly. She looks up at me and gives me a soft smile. I wrap my arm around her and rub her shoulder comfortingly.
"Alright everyone! Back to work." Shonda shouts. She shuts off the tv and we all move to our spots.
