"Sam, look! A shooting star! Make a wish, quickly!"
Sam looked at his brother, James, and ran over to the window that he was looking out of. He looked up at the darkened night sky and watched the star shoot from one end of the sky to the other. I wish, he thought, I wish that mom would come back, that she never left us.
"What did you wish for Sammy?"
"I can't tell you, it won't come true if I do" Sam said, looking over to his brother.
"Well, I guess you're right, but want to know what I wished for? I wished that mom wouldn't had left us. Ever since that day, I've been afraid of fire." James shuddered, thinking about his mother and the fire. He sighed, then turned to Sam. "Well, we should probably go to bed, we have school tomorrow."
Sam got off of the chair he was standing on to look out of the window and got into the bottom bunk of his bed. James walked over to the door, yelled down to his dad that they were going to bed, and said goodnight. He turned off the lights and stepped around all of the toys on the floor. He climbed up the ladder to his bed.
"Good night Sammy"
"Good night James"
And with that, they both drifted off to sleep, listening to the rustling of the Idaho wind.

"YOURE WHAT!" Cedars mother yelled from across the couch.
"I-I'm.....I'm gay mom" Cedar said, feeling embarrassed, looking down at her feet. Her mother was bright red in the face. Cedar had hoped she would have taken it well, accepting her for who she is, but just in case, she made sure that it was right before her 18th birthday.
"I WILL NOT HAVE A FAG LIVING IM MY HOUSE"
"But.. But... I'm your daughter..." Cedar was on the verge of crying.
"NOT ANYMORE. YOU WILL BE OUT OF MY HOUSE BY TONIGHT. I DONT CARE WHERE YOU GO. YOU COULD LIVE ON THE STREET FOR ALL I CARE!"
Cedar looked at her mother with disbelief. I can't believe it. I was expecting some anger, but this. I'm still her daughter. I just like girls. Cedar stood up.
"Fine, I guess if you can't accept me for me, I'll just have to leave." Cedar was shaking, tears starting to rush down her face. She turned away from her mother, and took a deep breath before walking up the stairs to her room. She grabbed her phone and called her best friend Kelsi.
"Kelsi, Ineedsomewheretostaybecauseicameouttomymomandshedidnttakeitwellanssheskickingmeout"
"Woah, woah, woah, slow down. Take a deep breath. I can't understand you."
Cedar took a deep breath and calmed herself a little bit. "I came out to my mom and she's kicking me out... Of the house....... *hiccup* I need somewhere to stay..... Would it be okay if I stayed with you? "
There was silence on the other side of the line while Kelsi registered what Cedar said. "Uh, I'll ask my mom, but I'm pretty sure she'll say yes, she's accepting of everything."
"Thank you Kelsi. Can I stay on the line with you until we find out what's going on? I don't want..... I don't want...."
"Shhhh, I know. Yes, you can stay on the line with me."
While Cedar started packing what she had into her backpack, Kelsi ran to her mom and asked her about Cedar staying for awhile.
"Cedar, she said yes. We'll come get you when you want. Do you need a suitcase or anything? Because we can come by now and help you pack."
Cedar thought about it for a moment. "I would really like that. Thank you, and if you Could bring a suitcase and some garbage bags so I can get what I need, that would help a lot." It was already starting to get dark, so they needed to get here and get out quickly.
"Don't mention it, that's what best friends are for right?" Kelsi said.
"Yeah. Um, could you guys get here quickly, I need to be out by tonight."
"Of course, we'll be there in 10-15 minutes."
Cedar said bye and hung up. She looked around the room and sighed. I'm gonna miss this room. She walked over to the window and saw a shooting star. I haven't made a wish on a star since I was little. Well, it couldn't hurt anything. I wish... I wish that even though my mom doesn't accept me, I'll find a girl that loves me for me, and we live happily together forever. She chuckled to herself and smiled. I'm such a child. She turned back around and continued packing while she waited for Kelsi and her mom to show up.

Sparrow sat on her bed, looking around at how dirty the orphanage was. It's like a cliché, a dirty, old building full of orphaned kids that no one wants. Actually, that's exactly what it was. I only have 2 more years until I'm out of here for good. She stood up and walked out of the 16 year old part of the house. The lady who runs the building could be worse, but she's still horrible to the kids. Sparrow is basically a mother to the kids. She's the oldest and takes care of the younger kids. All of them look up to her. As she walked down the stairs to check on the youngers she noticed it was eerily quiet. She ran into the room where 3-9 year olds are, and saw most of them fast asleep. She then realized that the house mother must have made them do work. She sighed. She hated her. She walked over to the window that was blowing cold air into the room and looked out into the Kentucky night sky. She saw a couple meteors. She gasped and ran over to the door of the room, flipping the light switch. She heard groans of children as it turned on.
"Guys! Wake up! There's a meteor shower!" Sparrow said as she walked around, shaking some of the kids. The kids took a moment to wake up, then jumped out of their beds and ran to the window, giggling, eyes still sleepy, but shining with excitement.
"Quickly guys, make a wish! They say if you make a wish during a meteor shower, it's 10x more likely to come true." Sparrow said, encouraging the kids. I wish that me, and all of the kids here, find permanent homes with nice people that will love them forever. All of the kids were closing their eyes and whispering with excitement. They then watched the rest of the shower. As it ended the kids started calming down and yawning.
"Okay guys, back into bed." There were a couple of protests but they all climbed into bed. Sparrow walked around the room and said individual good nights. She turned off the light and left the room. Hoping for her dream and the rest of the kids dreams to come true, she went to bed, and drifted off the sleep.

"Jay, Darius, and Willow, please come to the dispatch room. Jay, Darius, and Willow, please come to the dispatch room" said the captain over the intercom. They all turned their heads to look at eachother.
"Well, looks like lunch will have to wait" Darius said to his two co-agents. Willow sighed and Jay stood up.
"Yelp, I guess we should go" Willow said as she stood up and put her lunch back into her locker. They all walked out of the locker room and went to the dispatch room. Willow looked around at the walls covered in different gadgets.
"Agents, today is the trial run of SAD, satellite agency of dreams. I'm happy to announce that you three will be the agents we send on this mission. Jay, you will be assigned to Sparrow, a 16 year old girl who is an orphan in Richmond, Kentucky wishes for her and all of the orphans in her house to have permanent homes with great people. Darius, you're with a 9 year old boy named Sam. He lives in Meridian, Idaho. He lost his mom in a fire when he 4. He wants her back. Good luck figuring that one out. And lastly, Willow, you will be with almost 18 year old Cedar. She lives in Aaarhus, Denmark. She's a lesbian who want a girl who loves her for who she is. Have fun playing match maker." The captain said, turning to each agent while telling them their case. "You will be given anything that you think you'll need for your case. You'll be leaving in a couple of days to your respective towns. That should give you time to think of some ideas for your case. Any questions?"
The room got quiet. None of agents said anything.
"Good." The captain said." Dismissed"
The agents left. Once they were down the hall the started talking about the mission.
"I can't believe I was chosen" Willow said.
"Idaho? I have to go to Idaho?" Darius said.
"We get to be the ones on the trial run? Are we that trusted? Wow" Jay said.
They all got back to the locker room and got out their lunch.
"These missions are gonna be......fun" Darius said.
