Gold and Blood

Waiting

I continued to cry until my cheeks dried with bloody tears. A shadow fell over my fetal form and I lifted my blotchy eyes to Kai. " Welcome to your new life," he said in an almost victorious tone. Any feelings of infatuation I had for him where gone. " Go away," I spat out standing up with a stumble. He ran a hand through his neatly done hair. " You will be following me now," he turned and walked out the door dropping a key. I just stared at his back with a growing hate. I reached for the key and unlocked my shackles, they fell with a clatter that sounded 10 times louder than it should have been.

I absently began to follow his path, if I tried to run he would probably kill me. He weaved in between hallways and came to a white door gilded with a black hawk. " Pearl will help you with your transitions and please," he aimed a meaningful glare. " Don't kill her."

" It's your fault i'm like this," I muttered under breath, walking past him and opening the door. Inside was a comfortably furnished room, elegant curtains covering a large window that spanned an entire side of the room. " I trust you will act civil while staying here," Kai stepped beside me, setting a hand on my shoulder his tone light . " Don't touch me," I snarled moving away. I felt sharp teeth poke my lip and shuddered. His eyes narrowed, " May I remind you that i'm in charge around here and you will respect me." I rolled my eyes, like hell I would.

" If you would so kindly leave i'd like to wash the blood from soul," I side glanced at him, flashing teeth. He chuckled low, " Pearl will bring some clothes." I gave a small nod then pushed his chest which was supposed to be lightly but ended up sending him flying out the door. He crashed into a statue and black blood started to speckle his immaculate suit. He cursed loudly then stood, I backed up a bit. His face was absolutely terrifying with calm rage. " Im sorry," I said quickly then slammed the door shut.

The door locked from the outside. Fantastic . . .

I opened a door to find a white and black bathroom. I literally ripped off the lacy dress and turned on the water for the shower. I hopped in then instantly regretted it because it was God awful hot! I scrambled to lower the heat then slipped and crashed to the floor. " Fuuuuuu-," I groaned then stood back up and scrubbed every bit of blood from my skin. 

After I was sure I was absolutely clean, I stepped out onto a fluffy black carpet and studied myself in the mirror. My eyes were back to normal though somewhat larger than before. My body seemed more lithe and looked as if I had been a model before any of this mess happened. " Well at least one good thing came from this nightmare." I strode out of the bathroom to see some underclothes and a  pair of black jeans with red crop top over it.

" Wow what utterly unoriginal colors," I muttered under my breath and unhurriedly put everything on. Everything fit perfectly but the top was a bit to short for my liking. " Hmm," I walked a circle around the room. The large windows were locked on both the inside and outside, the view however was stunning. There were snowy mountains in the distance, pine trees covering the entire distance. The moon shone brightly casting a silver glow over everything. 

I laid my forehead on the cool glass and contemplated my situation. A new vampire, stuck in an unknown location and then him. I closed my eyes. " If i'm ever going to get out here, I have to make them trust me." I opened my eyes staring at the mountains, " Whatever it takes." The door unlocked and opened. On instinct I moved behind the door as it opened. Whoa.. I'm fast, I grinned inwardly.

Pearl walked inside uncertainly. " Renee? I heard what you did to Kai. Are you adjusting well?" Her black stilettos clopped on the wood floor, eyes darting around the room. I emerged from behind the door, " I'm doing as well as can be expected", my voice came out as a hiss. She jumped, " Jesus Renee, please." I smirked and stepped closer, " What do you want?" 

" Well," she straightened her purple cocktail dress. " I'm here to bring you to the grand hall to met your new family." I grabbed a handful of her hair, my vision turning red, " There are not my family!" I let go of her and strode past her to wait in the hall. Her heart was beating erratically and she joined me avoiding my gaze. Pearl set a fast pace going through the many halls and corridors ending at a door gilded with same black hawk that was on my door. Laughter and crashing echoed behind the door, I gave Pearl a stony look. " Go on. I sighed and rolled my shoulder it's now or never, I shoved the doors open.
