Farkle

I couldn't even contain my excitement. She likes me. She likes me. SHE LIKES ME!!! I was skipping to the room after Mr. Matthews handed Lucas our key. I hope our room is next to Riley's. She just lights up my world. I have liked her for a year and I never thought she would like me back. The way she smiles is just beautiful. "Good to know, Farkle." says Lucas laughing. I froze then said, "I didn't realize I was talking out loud, sorry." "I didn't know you liked Riley, Farkle. You do know that you can tell me this stuff, right?" He said. I replied, "Of course I know that. It's just that I never really had anyone to tell that stuff to. So I guess what I'm saying is thanks for being my friend." "Your welcome Farkle. I'm happy we are friends too." The we just walked in silence then  it hit me, "Lucas," he looked over at me and said, "Yeah?" So I continued, "Who do you like?" Before he could answer we were stopped when we heard, "Lucas." said Maya narrowing her eyes, "Maya." said Lucas with a smile on his face then it hit me the way he was looking at her made me think that-"Hi Lucas and hi Farkle um I think we are going to go unpack now okay bye." said Riley and grabbed Maya and dragged her into their room before Lucas or I could reply. Lucas just shrugged it off and opened our room door and walked in. I stood out there for a minute before walking in and shutting the door. "So Lucas," I started watching his face carefully, " you didn't get to answer my question. Who do you like?" He looked as if he was hesitant to tell me but I nodded my head in encouragement. I already knew who it was so I wanted to know if he would lie to me and he replied, "Uh I don't really like anybody. Uh I'm going to do to the bathroom." As he walked to the bathroom I just was still trying to take in what just happened. I can't believe he just lied to me. I can't even believe that he wouldn't just tell me who he likes it's not that big of a deal. Just as I was about to walk out to get some air Lucas walked out and said, "Alright Farkle you wanna know who I like," he looked at me as he paused and I nodded then he started pacing before he continued, "Okay Lucas you can do this um okay. Farkle I love Maya." My jaw had dropped to the floor. I never thought anyone would love Maya Hart let alone Lucas Friar. I mean they couldn't be more different yet he fell in love with her. Maybe this could be a good thing, maybe he could thaw out her cold heart or maybe even give her one. I looked at Lucas and he was looking at me with a nervous expression on his face, it was like he wanted my permission or it was as if he was scared at feeling this emotion and he didn't know if it was real or not. "Farkle are you going to say something?" Lucas said breaking the silence before I replied I thought about what I was going to say and then I said it, "Lucas congrats man. I hope you two have a happy ending." Lucas smiled and said, "Me too." I just hope he is okay if he gets his heart broken.
