I sit in a old wooden chair staring blankly out the window. The frosty air raises the fine hairs on my arms. I look down at my chest to see a empty space, my heart was nonexistent. Solemnly i gaze up only this time the chair is a throne. Tall grey walls form the great castle around me. My fortress of solitude was littered with bodies one of which was my queen. Tears stream down my face as i realize I'm alone...all this time pushing away from my beloved and now they leave me for the afterlife. I Hear him chuckling in the corner behind a large marble pillar. Out from the shadows a faceless black mass creeps forth. Somehow without a face the creature smiles, black folds creased into the shape of grinning lips.

"Thy may hath erased the others but thou shalt always remain. Thy brethren failed a birth given duty. I shall not falter" it said, its deep voice shaking the foundations of the castle. The Man of shadows appears before me looking down into my head. images of death, war and sorrow violently flashed in my mind. I couldn't turn away from what was within, my eyes flickered white and the hole in my chest inverted further. Darkness closed in on me from all directions and the shadow vanished into it. When the images faded i found myself in a lake of blood and pale bodies. A forest of bone trees surrounded the lake. Their leaves made from dried skin and organs for fruit. The night sky was smoke grey and all that hung in it was a blood red moon. Somehow i was looking at myself while looking around from my own eyes. I saw crippled black feathered wings jutting from my back. My eyes were a dull silver and my skin was a dark grey. Not being able to bear the sight any longer i closed my eyes and drown myself in the bloody water.
