None of the characters in this story belong to us, they all belong to J.K. Rowling and her fantastic world.

"This is getting rather annoying," Lily huffed as she voiced her thoughts to the other three girls in her dormitory. Mary McDonald barely looked up from the book she was reading, already lost in its fictional world. Alice Prewett glanced up from her potions essay but quickly returned to it because it was due the following Tuesday. Marlene McKinnon didn't even flinch as she steadily changed the colour of Mary's cat at an alarming rate.

"What's getting annoying?" Marlene asked as she swished her wand again, turning the poor cat a bright shade of purple.

"The fact that the Marauders always get away with their outrageous pranks!" Lily clarified, with a shake of her head.

"They don't necessarily get away with it. I heard that McGonagall was pretty angry about Black flooding the East Corridor with bubble juice," Alice added while furiously scribbling at the parchment. Marlene chuckled under her breath, her cheeks going a little pink.

"Something funny, Mar?" Lily said, quickly noticing Marlene's unnaturally pink tint.

"Nope, nothing," Marlene replied, quickly ducking her head to conceal her blush, "I just think there's a way to stop their escapades..." she trailed off.

"Inform me," Lily said grinning at her friend's cover up.

"We out prank them, duh," Marlene said causing Alice to suddenly look up and gasp, dropping her quill on the parchment, smearing her writing. Mary scoffed from behind the pages of her book and gave Marlene a condescending look.

"Marlene! Are you crazy?" Lily all but screamed at her friend.

"There's no need to shout, I'm sat right here!" Marlene shouted back equally loudly, while Alice grumbled loudly about her ruined essay, failing potions, and an angry Professor Slughorn.

"I kno-," Lily started only to be cut off by an angry and rather frazzled looking prefect.

"YOU PEOPLE ARE SO LOUD," the prefect yelled, she looked to be about a fifth year, "WE HAVE OWLS TO STUDY FOR!"

"Alright, alright I'm sorry," Lily said looking quite shocked by the younger student's brave outburst.

"I'M NOT SORRY!" Marlene shouted after the prefect as she slammed the door shut behind her.

"Back on topic, Mar, we cannot, let me stress that, cannot prank the Marauders," Lily said looking very much like an angry mother.

"Why not? It'll be fun!" Marlene argued, trying to convince Lily.

"I'll do it if it means you guys will shut up and let me finish my book," Mary huffed, causing Marlene to grin triumphantly at Lily.

"Mary!" Alice said , shocked, ruining her second attempt at the Potions essay. (Alice tried to dissuade Mary but did not succeed as she had already returned to her book. Alice shot her a flat look and surrendered when she got no reaction out of her)

Mary and Alice started staring at each other until Alice gave up and said, "Fine, I'll do it."
The three girls looked at Lily.

"One week only," she huffed and sat on her bed, defeated.

"It's time," Marlene said deviously and slightly creepily.
...

The Marauders had had the most confusing week in the history of weeks, or so they thought. The entire week consisted of them getting pranked every day of the week even though they definitely established themselves as pranking royalty of Hogwarts.

"Who could've done it?" James asked the three other Marauders, shuffling his feet angrily.

"Dunno mate," Sirius Black replied, shrugging, "I thought we had established that we were the kings of this place but now all this happened." He motioned to his normally shiny black hair that had been enchanted to be florescent pink.

Little did the four Marauders know that the pranksters that they were unknowingly discussing were hidden behind a painting just up ahead. As the boys approached their hiding place, the girls went to confront them.

"Nice hair, Black," Marlene smirked at Sirius, flashing him a blinding smile. Sirius pouted. "I don't want to talk about it," he sniffed, dramatically flipping his now brightly coloured hair over his shoulder like he was in a shampoo commercial. But James, being the sneaky spyer that he is, noted that Sirius's ears were red and a certain girl who's name started with 'M' and ended with 'arlene' was the cause of his embarrassment, or so James thought.

James grinned widely like Christmas had come early. "So, McKinnon," he began, smiling charmingly at Sirius's little 'crush', "you free this weekend?"

In one long silence, Sirius's breathing stumbled, Lily's green eyes widened in surprise, and the others stared at Marlene with bated breath.

"Actually, no... I'm going with... umm..." Marlene's coffee coloured eyes scanned the small group of people, panicked as she was running out of ideas. Not Peter. Oh, not Sirius. Obviously not James. Remus!

"I'm going with Remus!"

"Wait, what?" Remus asked instantly, but he immediately shut up when Marlene shot him a look that told him that he would be six feet under in a second if he contradicted her. "Yes? Yes, I am going with Marlene, yes." He sounded more like he was trying to convince himself more than anything.

"Really?!" Sirius almost yelled, his face showing a look of absolute betrayal at Remus's 'act of treachery'. James sighed loudly now that his plan had been botched.

"Umm... yes, We're going to Honeydukes as... friends?" Remus kind of asked. Sirius's regal eyebrows scrunched as he tried to make sense of this situation. He was just having a normal day, well, as normal as it gets for the Marauders at least, until this whole mess started.

"Yup, we're gonna have a great time," Marlene agreed, breezily. She was very good at this kind of thing. She smiled sweetly at Remus, who started to understand this mind game. Remus shot Marlene a heart- melting smile, his golden wolf eyes alight with laughter. Sirius almost passed out.

"Jeez, get a room, you two," Alice groaned, "It's sickening."

"Aw, no, they're kinda cute," Mary added. Sirius's face formed an expression of utmost disgust as Marlene swung an arm around Remus's waist and Remus's hand rested easily on her hip. Remus was a good child. He was good at a lot of things. One of those things being lying. He was used to lying due to his furry little problem but when he saw Sirius's death glare, he slightly feared for his life and made a mental note to sleep with one eye open tonight.

"Can we meet in the library tonight? To discuss the details of this little stitch?" Marlene half whispered to Remus.

"Sure," Remus replied softly. Unfortunately for her and Remus, their little pow wow group only heard snipets of their conversation.

"Ohhh... in the library after hours, I see," James cackled gleefully. Remus's face turned red as he opened his mouth to correct him but Marlene cut him off.

"Oh, it's a lot more fun than you might think," Marlene said smugly. And that was the last thing she said before all four girls sashayed away. Remus made a new mental note to not only sleep with one eye open but to also sleep with his wand in hand, just in case. Just in case.
