Daniel's POV

I groaned as I sat up, I looked over at the pillow next to me hoping to see Jason laying there, but I knew he wouldn't be.

I sighed and pet Sammy, he followed me to the kitchen and scratched at the door. He whined at me and scratched again. I ignored him and got myself a bowl of cereal, but Sammy wouldn't stop scratching. He got up on his hind legs and howled. Sammy never howled, "Whats wrong boy?" He just whined and looked expectantly at the door and gave it one more scratch.

I carefully opened the door and Sammy squeezed through the door and started sniffing at something on the welcome mat, he carefully took it in his teeth, he walked back inside and set the thing at my feet instantly I realized what it was, or rather who it was. Jason. He was lying face down on the hardwood floor. He was covering in mud, sopping wet, and Sammy's saliva.

"Oh my god." I gasped as I gently scooped him into my palm. He was so cold that he was shaking in his sleep. "Jason?" I called quietly as I nudged his face. He didn't even flinch, he was out cold. "How did you even get here?" I whispered not expecting an answer.

I needed to warm him up, I racked my brain, a bath! After getting cold a warm bath would always help. Would that help though, it would clean the mud off of him, but what if I drowned him? I pushed that thought aside and filled a bowl with warm water. I picked up a pair of scissors,

"Sorry Jason." I murmured as I cut off his shirt, I didn't want to cut of his pants, what if he didn't have anything underneath? I blushed and shook my head. I cut off the fabric just above his knees so he was wearing a really weird looking pair of shorts.

I carefully lowered Joey into the warm water, it was up to his neck. I dipped my hands in the water, compared to the warm water Joey felt absolutely freezing. I carefully massaged the warmth into him using my thumb and first finger. I poured a little bit of soap on my fingers and gently scrubbed off the mud.

I got a towel and got him out of the water. Instantly he started shivering again, dried him off the best I could and carefully cradled him in my palms. I went to my room and decided to sacrifice my favorite blanket. I cut off a corner. I wrapped him in the soft fabric and held him to my chest. I reached over and turned on the radio so there wasn't just silence.

Sammy had jumped up on the bed with me and was laying my side. It took a few minutes for Jason to regain consciousness. He moaned, and rolled over so he lying on his stomach. "Jason?" I asked quietly.

"D-Daniel?" He stuttered, his voice was so weak that it sounded like a whisper.

"Yeah, I'm here. It's me Jason." I murmured, he sat up with a groan.

"Daniel." He repeated, he smiled at me. Relief was clear to see on his face.

"Jason, how did you even get here? Why? I thought you wanted to be with your family." I whispered.

"M-My mom, she-she freaked out when I told her about you, she said that you would hurt me, that I shouldn't trust you. She slapped me and kicked me out of the house. I came here, I had no where else to go," suddenly tears were streaming down his cheeks. "I thought I was going to die," he sobbed, "Y-You didn't answer the door. I couldn't- I couldn't do anything." He sobbed.

"Jason, it's okay, I've got you." I promised as I pressed him gently against my chest. He clutched my shirt and sobbed into my chest, and I rubbed his back with a hesitant finger while whispering soothing words. I hate his mother, I haven't even met her but I wouldn't want to. How could she do that? Why? Who puts their son through that?

"Daniel..." He paused.

"What is it Jason?" I asked gently.

"I-I'm gay." He murmured. Something clicked in my head.

"Jason is that why your mom kicked you out?" I asked softly, that happened to one of my friends in high school, his name was Brandon I think, just after he was kicked out of the house he disappeared. It was a bad situation all around, the cops assumed the family killed him.

"N-No." He said nervously, "It-It's because I-I. I like you." He stuttered, he looked up at my shocked face and let more tears fall down his face. "I-I'm sorry, p-please don't yell at me o-or hurt me."

My eyes widened, and butterflies started flying in my stomach. I was shocked at first, but I couldn't help but grin, "No, it's, it's okay. I-I feel the same way Jason." I admitted. He hesitantly broke into a grin, he shyly wiped away tears.

"R-Really?" Jason said grinning from ear to ear, fear fading, turning into shy excitement, "Daniel come closer."

"What?"

"Come closer!" He repeated. Hesitantly I leaned in closer, "Closer!" He repeated. I leaned in even closer and I felt something press against my bottom lip.

I pulled back, "Did-Did you just kiss me?" I asked eyes wide and cheeks red.

"W-Was that to soon?" Joey asked nervously, "Sorry I just- I just thought that-" he was silenced as I kissed him, well more like pressed my lips against his face.

I pulled back and chuckled at his shocked face, "it's fine, I just wasn't expecting it, here come with me," I laughed as I offered my palm.

Jason removed his blanket and looked at the 'shorts' he was wearing. He looked up at me with one eyebrow raised, "Where are my clothes?"

"Um, they're gone." I said sheepishly while rubbing the back of my neck.

"What?! Those were the only ones had." He sighed.

"I'm sorry, I had to get you warm so I, well I gave you a bath."

"YOU WHAT?!" Jason yelled, Sammy perked up from her sleep.

"Relax I didn't see anything, I bathed you in what your wearing now," I explained.

"Well that explains where the mud went." He mumbled, "What? I have to go around shirtless all the time?" He sighed.

"Well I have a friend who works in the fashion industry, she could probably whip something up."

"I-I won't have to meet her right?" Jason asked nervously.

"No. Not unless you want to. I'll just ask her for some clothing for a four inch doll." I explained.

"Alright," Jason agreed slowly, and he yawned. "D-Do you mind if I sleep a little longer? I'm really tired."

"No of course I don't mind, I still can't believe that you walked all the way to my house."

"It was terrifying." He admitted, "luckily there weren't many people around." Daniel nodded sympathetically and Jason curled up into a ball.

Daniel draped the blanket over his tiny body and rubbed his back as he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

"Sleep well Jason." I whispered to him, my boyfriend. I grinned at the thought of that, and at that moment I knew that it was my job to protect him, to watch over him and make sure no one hurts him. Not again, I draped my hand over Joey like a blanket and joined Joey in the dream world.
