Being here for a few days was doing my head in. My hair had become matted, my clothes torn and I had the worst headache from sleeping on a concrete bench. My mate occasionally visited me once a day and that bitch with the big mouth brought me food when she felt like it. I had tried to escape more times than I could count on my fingers but it was difficult when they had super abilities and you didn’t. I decided it was time for me to give up and take a different approach. I decided to do nothing but sit and feel sorry for myself.
That was until they brought my younger brother into the bars. Harrison's face was hanging low; he looked worn out and tired. The fifteen year old boy looking into my eyes couldn't possibly be my brother. He had scratches and bruises forming over his face and body. I needed to hug him, to make sure my brother was OK. I ran to the bars and tugged with all the strength I had but it was no good. I screamed curses at the men but it did nothing. They threw him into a bar in front of mine so we were directly across from each other. I was crawling towards him.
"Harry! It's so good to see you, how are you? What happened to you? How's dad? Liam?"
Harrison looked to his left to make sure no guards were watching or listening to our conversation. He kept his head low and his voice was a quiet whisper. "Ayda...I've missed you so much. I'm better now seeing that you're fine. Everyone has been so worried about you. Father has been in meetings and arranging an attack on these bastards. Have they hurt you? Liam has been going out of his mind. The alpha of this pack or....your mate I should say has been giving our family hell. He refuses to give you up, claiming you are his. We don't know how to get you back home safe."
"But...why are you here then?"
He hesitated for a moment, looking slightly worried. "Um...well because all of this is causing so much stress on dad I decided to bring you home. Only the wolves caught me crossing the border and well....I'm sentenced to death for being a warrior...."
The words flung at my chest tearing my heart into tiny pieces. Tears stung my eyes. I began to cry and scream out "NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! THEY CAN'T DO THIS TO YOU! NO! YOU'RE MY BROTHER! HARRY!"
Hearing the commotion the alpha came down to see what the fuss was about. By this time I had myself in a corner curled with my knees in my chest sobbing long and hard, taking in deep breaths. I heard the jail bars open but I never looked up. I could hear my brother yelling "Don't you touch her you son of a bitch! I'll fucking kill you if you lay one hand on her." I look up to see the men that took me away in the woods holding onto my brother, keeping him restrained. The alpha came closer and closer than I liked and I cowered away from him shoving my back into a wall.
His eyes locked with mine seeing me wince at the pain. He whispered "Shhh, shhh, its OK baby girl. Nothing is going to hurt you." I had no energy to fight him as he swooped me up into his arms. Once he lifted me and began to walk out of the jail I saw the two men begin to beat up Harry and that's when my anger kicked in. I began to fling my body in his arms not caring how amazing the feeling was to be held by another human. I was screaming and kicking, unable to control the rage building up inside of me. I screamed "Don't hurt him. Don't you dare fucking hurt him!" But the alpha's grip was too strong and he slammed the door behind me leaving my brother in there alone with those things.
“Shh Ayda please calm down. I won’t let them hurt him I promise but you need to stop fighting me.” The alpha spoke to me in a calm and loving voice.
He dragged my flailing body up the stairs. I was resisting his word as he took me into a huge bedroom and flung me onto the bed, and then he turned around
“You should be fucking grateful I haven’t killed that stupid idiot brother of yours yet.”
He locked the door behind him leaving me alone in a big room while Harry was alone and scared in a jail cell. I began to cry once again.
