Cole's Point Of View
Can I mark you? CAN I MARK YOU? What the hell was I thinking? Really suttle Cole, you didn't freak her out or anything. After I asked of course she excused herself from dinner telling me she needed to lie down. I stood here in my fresh shirt with my sleeves rolled doing the dishes from Lauren's mess, my tie loose and hair began to fall in my eyes. I gave her the biggest speech I ever had, confessing my love and she shut me down. Idiot.
After I finish I decide to try going up to my room to talk to her. When I reach my room and creek the door open there is an angel laying on my bed, fast asleep. I walk over to her to hear her tiny breaths. I reach out and storke away some of he dangelling curls that escaped her bun, as I did this she mumbled something in her sleep.
"Liam."
My blood ran cold. Hurt washed over me and I removed my hand, deciding to have a shower to calm myself down. I can't let Ayda see me like this again. I step into the bathroom and look in the mirror, clearly pissed off. I run the water and take off my clothes. Stepping in all of my anger and anxiety run away with the water leaving me feeling calm and peaceful.
I told Aydan I would wait for her and I'm sticking to it. It might take forever but she's worth it. She's kind and loyal but I still see a side to her where she has a fiesty streek and that's when I turn the shower's water to cold.
When I step out I hear moving in my bedroom and instantly I think Kara might have gotten in and to Ayda. I rush out of the bathroom with a towel hanging around my waist to see Ayda awake and looking around for something on my shelves. She was wearing one of my shirts and as she moved up to reach the top shelf, which she was too small for might I add. I noticed how toned her legs were and how nice her black lacy underwear was.
Not being able to stand and look any longer I break the silence.
"What are you doing?"
"You have absolutely nothing to read. At all. It's amazing." She replies still reaching. I make my way over to her to the other shelf and reach up to the very top to grab my collection of novels. I pull down one of my favourites..The Grapes of Wrath. She has now come up behind me with innocence in her eyes and a smile on her face.
"Ah, so he isn't as dumb as he looks." I laugh at her insults, even though they annoy me a little...she lights up my life in ways no one else ever has. I hand her the book but before she grasps it I pull it away from her. Disappointment flooded over her face which I smirked at, she was beautiful.
"Why should I give you this book to read?" I ask her with a lot of cheekiness she would kill me for.
"Because you love me." She said and crept closer to me, pressing her body against mine, distracting me she leant up to kiss me but just before our lips met and I was in euphoria she snatched the book out of my hands and ran over to the bed. Maybe she’s worse than I am.
"Hey, do you have any glasses? I have mine at...well um home." She said tucking a strand of hair behind her ear looking incredibly nervous.
"No, I don't but if you would like I could read it too you until tomorrow then we can get you some." I say before thinking. Like she is going to want you to read to her like she's three.
"Yeah, um, sure." She said. Good one genious now she's really impressed.
"Ok, I'll just go get some clothes on...unless you don't want me too." Realising I was still in a towel I made an offer to make her blush, which I succeeded in. Winking then walking away i hear her say..
"I think it would be best if you did, thanks." She replied, still looking the novel over.
I walked to my wardrobe and found a grey woolen jumper along with black boxers and grey socks. Coming back to the bed I pulled the covers back and let both our bodies lie next to each other tucking the blankets around us. I sat next to her and let her lean against my shoulder. Heat flooded through my body as she rested against me.
"You all good?" I asked her.
"Yeah I'm great, is it ok if I'm leaning on you?" She asked, nervously.
"Of course." I say back with complete truth.
"Good. I can feel your heartbeat. It's going really fast" She says.
"That's the effect you have on me." I look down to see she is staring straight ahead with a goofy smile on her face. Suddenly it turns serious.
“I’m sorry about running out on you at dinner.” She apologises.
“It’s ok; I understand I was moving too fast.”
“It’s not that, it’s just I hear that markings are really painful.”
“Haha, they are more indulging then painful. It’s a bunch of nonsense warriors made up to stop us joining together. You have nothing to be afraid of.” I said.
“I’m not afraid of you, I never could be.” I smiled at her which she returned and I began to read.
"To the red country and part of the gray country of Oklahoma, the last rains came gently, and they did not cut the scarred earth."
Her eyes slowly begin to close and after I get to the second page she is fast asleep in my arms. I don't want to move, I have to savour this one moment have with her because I've never felt happiness so strongly before. I love her and I always will.
