Max's POV:
I broke down when Tim told me. I wiped my eyes, only to have tears fill them back up again. I heard Tim crying too. "Ross? You okay?" I heard Adam say. "I gotta.. ya know.." "Yeah, bye.." He hung up.
I sat on the grass in front of the porch, my phone on the porch. I told Tim to text me what he said, and he did. I left my phone unlocked on the porch and texted Ross to come outside. When he did, he saw me facing the road, my face on my knees, arms wrapped around my legs, crying.
Then he noticed my phone. He picked it up, read it, and set it back down. He walked over to me. "Max, I-" "Just shut up." I saw a tear fall down his face. "No, listen-" "What if I already know what happened and you lied to me to hurt me?!"
I glared at him, and he looked at me with wide eyes and stepped back, only to sit down beside me. "Max, that was before I-" "Before what? Before you fucking tried to ruin my life?!" I shook his head and he put his hand on my leg, and I let him.
I stuttered out, "Ross.., I-I loved you.. doesn't that mean anything..?" "It means something and everything, Max. It was before I knew you, before I loved you. He forced me to do this or he wouldn't let me move in."
I faced him and wrapped my arms around him. "I'm so sorry. Ross, I-" "Shh, Maxy, you talk too much." He stood up and he held me close. I jumped up and wrapped my legs around him. He carried me inside after I got my phone.
I wiped my tears once we got inside. "I fucking love you, Max. I'm sorry." Barney, Steven, and Jin were staring at us. Ross went to the couch and sat down, and I climbed off his lap and sit next to him. "We need to get Tim back, and away from that, that beast we once knew as a friend." I said.
