This one is for all those broken hearts out there. For the girls whose first heartbreak was their fathers. For the guys whose first rejection was their mothers. For all those survivors who are/have been physically/emotionally abused. For all those who have lost a loved one. For the people battling a mental illness. For those who, even after what they go through, wake up. For those who don't.
Here's to the people who are lost and are struggling to find themselves,
To the kids dragging a blade across their skin to control the pain;
To the girls starving themselves to look pretty;
To the guys with low self-esteem;
To those who hate themselves and hide the pain behind a smile;
This one is for you.
Because we all deserve to be loved. We deserve for our mothers to love us and our fathers to care for us. We deserve a true friend. Most importantly, we deserve to be happy. Because we're strong, we've put up with the shit life has piled our way; because we're beautiful, not the appearance kind the society has programmed us to consider, the exquisite kind where you're a soul knitted with stardust and dreams. Because this life is ours, and even when we have a hundred reasons to quit, we'll pound the 'continue' for that one reason.
So to everyone who's suffering, repeat after me,
"I might not be okay, but that's okay."
Because trust me, things are going to be okay. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but eventually, it will all be okay, I promise.
So hold on, and stay alive.
