It's coming. You know it is. You can hear its claws shredding the wood floor. Gleaming red eyes seeking their next victim and nostrils flaring at your scent. You can hear the low, raspy, growling as drool slips out of its mouth, wetting the floor. It is right outside the door. Then all the noise stops. Did it leave? No. You can hear ragged breathing. A shredding noise erupts from the door. You jump. It's trying to get in. Will it get in? Will anyone find you in your cabin if it does? The door is splintering. You can see the gouges appearing on your side of the door. Tears slip out your eyes and run down your face. It's going to get in. It's going to kill you. Everything stops. Did it give up? You are breathing heavily in fear. The door slowly creaks open, nearly falling off the hinges. You peer anxiously into the dark hallway. Nothing. Your stomach churns with a thought. Hesitantly, you look over the edge of the bed. Swallowing hard, you look under. Your breath hitches. Two red eyes glare at you. A deep growl emanates from it. Fear freezes you in place and sweat trickles down your temples. You jump off the bed and try to run out. A large, black, scaled arm shoots out from under the bed and grabs your ankle. You fall to the floor screaming. The last thing you see are the sharp yellow teeth as the creature pulls you under the bed.
Everything goes black.
