Run Run Run

I ran with the gun in my hand while desperately looking past the towering trees for the car. I followed the trail of blood and had my heart skip a beat from almost tripping and falling. I stop behind a tree and catch my energy back. I'm gratified by my action almost giggling like a school girl, but wonder what should I do now?

I can hear Nancy curse at me which inspires me to start running again. I can see the car from a few seconds away, which seems to be my saving grace. I push myself to run a little faster and nearly bump into the side of the car. Shoot the gun and look away, when it goes of shattering the glass. I cut myself against a piece of glass when I unlock the door, but it's the least of my worries. I quickly sat down and almost started the car until I realized that the key wasn't in the ignition. I don't know how to jump start a car and I don't have the time to learn, but I check the glove compartment for more bullets but my phone the notepad Nancy was writing in fell out so I shoved them in my pocket for future evidence. I read the front with a bunch of other things crossed out like shopping and I flip around and see

12.) Bury victim in the woods

13.) Kill kid

"Crap I knew it!" I shouted.

I got out of the car and shot out a front wheel before putting the gun in my pocket and making another run for it towards the bridge. I can only imagine how far the two must have made it, but I'm hoping not too far since they're old. I feel the scare sting and the blood drip out as I run across the bridge. I see the city is so close, but far for someone as tired as I am but I keep running because it's life or death at this point. I can see the city coming closer to me, I push it like my coach would when he tells me during a game- Pop, pop! The sounds of gunshots. They're getting closer I don't know how close, but close enough for me to be concerned. Almost to the edge of the city and I can see a building and when I look back, I can see the car driving slower than usual due to the tire. I run in front of the building and turn left and circled to get behind it.

I stop for a bit to catch my breath, but I run to get behind another building and do it to another building and then look at the street. I look and only see people walking, other stores and cars that aren't Ted & Nancy's. Good. I have to change my look though, I'm still a wanted criminal. I peak out of the side of the building I'm hiding behind and see the front of their car rolling up. I spin my body back to hide and silently pray they didn't see me while trying to think of something. I pull my hair down and in front of my face and rub my hand in the ground and rub it in my hair hoping to discolor it. I collect some of the blood seeping out of my arm and rub it on my shirt so it doesn't match any descriptions of me and to gain sympathy. I wait a few seconds just in case and peak on the side again to see if the car is still out there. It isn't, but I rush from the backs of one building to another building, running when exposed to the road and walking when I'm behind a building. I look on both of my sides for a police station or police cars I have no luck. I peak and see nothing but I didn't see it when entering the city so I fear I have to cross the street to find it. I predict that the Ted and Nancy are on the other side of town, asking around on foot, or hopefully but doubtfully given up. It's risky, but see a convenient store I could ask for help in. It'll do, I guess. My only hope is to use sympathy to get help so I prep myself to act helpless. I run in the store seeing a man working behind the counter and i scream with my arms flailing.

"Whoa, what's wrong kid?" He asked me? He speaks English. Thank god. Now for sympathy.

"I need help. Where's the police station?" I ask back, almost fake crying.

"It's in the center of town. What happened to you?"

"I was kidnapped by an old couple, and they made me do things."

"Like?"

"Oh god I don't want to talk about it. In need the police now."

"Okay, I'll take you. Hey! Cover my shift, I'll be back!"

He escorted me outside and walked me to his car on the side of the street. Thank god. I'm saved. He got the keys from his pocket and opened his door and once inside, he unlocked the passenger door. I climbed in feeling safe since he had nothing to gain from me and seemed like a nice guy. He drives forward and to the right into a line of busy cars waiting for the light to turn green and I look outside oft he window feeling optimistic and safe for once.

"So kid, what did that old couple-" Before he could finish his sentence, a huge banging noise came from my left and I saw the man's brain blown out and felt some of his blood and brain on my clothing. Just before getting out Is aw Nancy with the gun pointed at me while Ted was driving. I see people screaming and running and I get out of the car and do the same. I run opposite of the way the car is facing and I run far and fast, but I see their car do and illegal U-turn despite cars driving away from them. I circle around the buildings down another road and run to the center of town. I can hear my pulse through my neck, and my breath moves faster than my feet. I hear a couple of gunshots and I keep running. I hear the skids of a speeding car getting closer so i cross the street to Teds' side thinking Nancy wouldn't shoot Ted. I still hear and almost see the gunshots hit around me, healing them hit the glass of shop windows, and some hitting people as they panic and run away, but it doesn't slow me down a bit. I run as they pause to reload letting me run behind another building. I run out of breath until I see the police station only about a minute away. I can almost a bullet graze me as I run behind another building. I run slower, but keep going as I see the police station get closer to me.

The car is nowhere to be seen or heard which scares, but comforts me at the same time. I'm almost there a bunch people trying to survive the sort of act as a collective human shield on one side of me. I'm a few footsteps away now. Just got to push it harder than I do in football and i feel see the door until BANG. A bullet right in the arm. I don't know where it came from but it hurt like a hundred bee stings at once. I grit my teeth as I groan from the most painful thing I've experienced. I couldn't coddle my wound, I'm almost there, just a few footsteps and now I've made it. I went through the front doors and scream as loud as possible, turning all heads towards me. A police officer approaches me and asks, "What happened?" Between pants, panic, and pain, all I can say is,

"...Got shot...old couple... kidnapped me....Call my dad."

I could feel the world fading away as he sounds of concerned police officers running around, yelling, giving orders grow more and more quiet and I can only feel the nice hand of an officer touching me and trying to comfort me and me only seeing blood seep from my shoulder until the world goes dark.
