Chapter One

"Sasha Park!" my mother yelled my name as I entered the house. Oh shit, I stop dead in my tracks as I hear my mom approach me. I slowly turn with the biggest fake smile. "Hey Mom! How was work?" I asked politely. "Sasha, cut the crap." my mom said staring blades into my eyes. "Mom..." I tried to act innocent it didn't work. "How the hell could you skip Gym to go play some stupid card game with animals that don't exist!" she yelled furiously. "They're pokemon..." I mumble looking to the side. "I don't give a damn what they are! I do give a damn about you getting fucking detention!" she yelled holding the phone with a message from the principle in front of my face. I sighed and looked down. "On top of that detention your grounded for two weeks missy!" she looks at me sternly. "That's not fair! It's bad enough I already have detention..." I cross my arms. "Should have thought of that before you cut gym class." my mom said walking away. "Anyone would have skipped that fucking class!" I shout back. She turns around "Three weeks! Go to your room!" I grunt annoyed and stomp up to my room. I dropped my book bag on my bed and then collapse on it. My phone dings and I sit up shuffling through my book bag for my phone. I finally feel my phone and grab it. I turn it on and see a message from Mai. I smile brightly and open only to see that she knew about my detention.

Mai- I can't believe you got detention all week next week...😑
Me- Hey it's not my fault that Coach Langston's class stops me from getting a shiny charizard!
Mai- ugh... Again with that pokemon stuff...
Me- I also got grounded...
Mai- what!? You got grounded as well!?
Me- what do you expect my mom to let me off?😕
Mai- well now you really screwed things up...😓
Me- how come?
Mai- because I got 2 tickets to that new horror movie you've been wanting to see you dingus!
Me- really?! I've been wanting to see it since the rumors!
Mai- well thanks to your bad ways I'll just find someone else to go with...
Me- no! You can't! That's not fair... You always take your best friend first!😣
Mai- this isn't up for negotiation anymore...
Me- that's not fair...
Mai- whatever... I have to go. Dance practice😍💃
Me- bye...

I sigh throwing myself back on my bed. Now I have to spend the weekend alone and miserable. I put my phone on the nightstand. I lay down and start thinking about what I could do for the next two weeks. "Ugh... Why do you have to be so naive?" I ask myself as I stare at the ceiling. My phone dings and I grab it seeing an instagram notification. I click on it to see a picture of Mai and her dance buddies. I smile brightly and quickly like the photo. I set my phone down and got up. I grabbed my computer and decide to watch some YouTube.

~few hours later~
I wake up to see my computer still playing a video. I close my laptop and finally hear my mom call me for dinner. I get up and head downstairs. My mom had already set up the table and I sat down in front of my plate and started eating. I was starving! I keep eating until my mom clears her throat. I look up slowly, my mouth still full of food. "You're not supposed to eat until your dad gets here" she faked a smile. I set my silverware and roll my eyes. See the thing about that so called 'dad' of mine isn't actually my dad. My dad passed away from a plane crash. My Mom remarried a year ago. I can't complain so much... she was happy and that's all I wanted. I sighed until I heard the door open. My 'dad' walked in and greeted my mom with a kiss. I gagged in my mouth a little. "This looks delicious honey" he said setting his brief case on the couch before sitting down. My mom nodded to signal I can eat now. I thank the Lord above. "Thank you jebus." I mumble and start eating. Dinner was pretty normal... The same conversation how was school? How was work? It was all the same. I helped my mom clean up and head back upstairs. Tired as shit, I head upstairs and get ready for bed. Before I go to sleep I check my phone and see a message from Mai.

Mai- Hey just wanted to say goodnight!😊✌🌑

I smile brightly and turn off my phone. I snuggle into my blankets and drift off to sleep. My mind going nowhere.
