RYAN

Despite the amount I drank last night my head was perfectly clear as I woke up from the best sleep I'd had in a long time. Curled up next to me with his head resting on my chest was my little racoon, Ricky. I couldn't quite believe he'd come back to my apartment, but I was happy because it felt like both of us needed to get laid. Ricky was a bottom and a pretty vocal bottom at that, I had to have absolute control and it was hard to not get off when Ricky screamed my name over and over again.

But now Ricky looked so innocent curled up against me with his hair messily covering his face and light snores. It had been a long time since I woke up with someone next to me, as a killer for hire it was hard to find someone who understood me but this time, it felt like I could talk Ricky around into understanding what made me tick.

Only when I was thinking about killing did I notice in the corner of my eye my favourite knife resting in plain sight on my desk and I curse my stupidity. Yes, it was dark last night so Ricky didn't see anything but in the cold light of day he would have questions I wasn't willing to answer just yet until I could fully trust him.

Luckily for me, Ricky was a heavy sleeper so I managed to get out of bed without disturbing him. I pull on a pair of sweats and start to hide anything suspicious, I had a lot of my killing stuff just laying around when normally I kept it hidden. I come across the pictures I'd taken of Ricky and TJ while I was doing surveillance and stuff them into a shoebox along with other incriminating documents about the campus murders and my plans for TJ's 'accident'. I didn't need to scare Ricky off anytime soon.

Only one other person I knew could help me out in my current situation. Chris, like me, was a killer for hire but he'd retired just last year when he got serious with his boyfriend Angelo. Like Ricky, Angelo didn't belong to this world but Chris fell in love with him and fell hard to the point he promised to give up killing to make Angelo feel more comfortable.

I speed dial my friend's number and wait for him to pick up as I leave the bedroom leaving the door slightly ajar as to not disturb Ricky with my phone call. Chris picks up on the third ring.

"Ryan, long time no talk. What can I do for you this fine morning? Why are you up? It's not even ten."

I check the clock above the TV and see that Chris was right it wasn't even ten in the morning and I was awake. The reason he sounded shocked was that I didn't usually wake up until midday, and then it took another good hour to convince myself to get out of bed.

"I have an Angelo situation I think Chris."

Chris shuffles down the other end of the phone before he speaks up.

"Okay, I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say your Angelo is the Ricky kid you met online. It's about time you found someone, Ryan."

Chris was adamant that if any of us continued killing it would be our downfall and the end of us. He was convinced one day we'd be given a dodgy contract and end up dead in the gutter with our throat slit or a bullet between our eyes. He wanted me to settle down. I scratch my head and glance back towards the bedroom.

"I met his boyfriend last night the one who abuses him, Chris, I was so close to killing him then and there. But I did manage to get Ricky back to mine and you and Josh were right about me needing to get laid."

"Too much information Ryan, but you're welcome. Josh owes me twenty, he said you wouldn't bed Ricky before the boyfriend was dead but I had faith in your killer charm."

Of course, my friends betted on me, it was our favourite thing to do.

"Luckily Ricky's still asleep Chris because I had some of my tools scattered around."
