The flames were to much for her to see his face, the most she could make out was a mere form. As the flames flickered back and forth she caught glances of bits and pieces.

Soot covered sneakers.

Jeans, rolled up slightly on one side.

A grey t-shirt with a logo coverd over by a black jacket.

She was holding on to a burning piece of support that held up the second floor of her home.

Why hadn't I left when there was still time! She thought, cursing herself. "Help me please!" She screamed, so desperate to not fall into the flames below.

"Why should I be responsable for your death as well as mine! Do these flames not hurt you? WHO ARE YOU!?"

He stood there for a moment, thinking about his reply. "They hurt, but not as much as they'll hurt you. I cannot tell you my name now, but I can if you trust me." His reply was so calm, so serene. He knelt down to get closer to her. She could now make out the brown bangs that covered his eyes.

"Do you trust me?"

"I DO! Please... Just save me." Tears streamed down her eyes, scared she was about to be seperated from her friends, her family, by death.

"Then you have to let go, but, I must tell you this one thing, you might never see your loved ones again if you do agree to trust me. Do you understand?" His voice still held the same calm tone.

"I..." Should I trust him? She thought.

"I..." I might never see my family again.

Her mind was made up against the pounding of her heart and the roaring flames. "I trust you." I'll see them again, I know I will.

She let go with that last thought lingering in her mind. It all seemed to happen in slow motion. She felt the fall, the flames brushing against her back, then, silence.

Ah...Hello everyone. It's M! I'm kind of against Author's Notes for some odd reason, so don't expect a lot of these...
