Surprise

"Mom, dad. I have to talk to guys about something." I sigh sitting on a couch opposite from them.

"What is it sweetie?" She asked.

"I'm pregnant." I blurt out.

"You're what?" My dad asks.

"I'm pregnant." I repeat.

"Does Devin know?" Mom asked after a moment of silence.

I nod.

"What do you plan on doing?" She asked.

"I want to keep my baby. And I applied to finish this year online." I sigh.

"Is that what you want?" Dad asked speaking for the first time.

"It is." 

"Well then we support you and will be there for you." Dad says.

"You guys aren't mad?" 

"Can't say we aren't disappointed but we love you and we accept your decision." Dad says and gets up to hug me, as do my mom.

"How many weeks are you?" Mom asked.

"I'm exactly not sure but I find out at my next sonogram which is today at four." 

"Is Devin going with you?" Dad asked.

"Yeah."

"Hello Alley. How have you been?" The doctor walks into the room.

"I've been good." I respond smiling at Devin.

"I take it that you are the father. I'm Dr. Olsen." She reaches out to shake Devin's hand.

"I'm Devin." He smiles.

The doctor sets up the machine. 

"Now this is just going to feel a little cool." She starts moving the thing around on my stomach. 

"Oh, that's a surprise ." The doctor says.

"What is?" I ask.

"Well sweetie you're having twins." She says.

Literally after she says that, everything goes mute.

Twins. I'm having twins. Not just one baby but two. 

How did this happen?
