Awake

I awaken in a bright white room hooked up to IV.

"Sweetheart, thank goodness you're awake" My dad stands over me. "Is mom and Nina okay?" I croaked out "Their fine and their out the hospital" My dad smiles. "How? It all happened yesterday" I said confused. "No, you've been out for a month" He says. "Oh, where is mom?" I ask. "In the food court with Devin, Nina, Harold and your daughters" He smiles moving hair out of my face. "Where are Hunter and Kimber?" I ask yawning. "They're in custody" He replies smiling at me nervously. "Sweetie, I have to tell you something" He sighs. "What?" I ask panic. "The doctor said you won't be able to have any more kids since the bullet punctured something in your uterus, I don't know technical terms, but I'm sorry sweetheart" He says sympathetically. "It's not your fault daddy" I sighed leaning my head back and closing my eyes.

"No, stay awake, I have to call the nurse" He says walking out the room. "Allison you're finally hun" The nurse smiles coming to my side. "Do you remember anything?" She asks. "Yeah I got shot" I snapped at that stupid question. "Do you remember anything else?" She asks. "I remember everything; can't I just go home already?" I ask irritated. "No hun, we need to keep you under observation for a few days" She smiles and I cough my throat hurting from lack of hydration in a month. "Phil, go get her some water" The nurse says demanding. He left and came back in a few. "This should help your throat sweetie" The nurse says lifting the cup up to my lips. The water felt good going down my throat. "Where are my daughters?" I ask pushing the water away from my lips. "Do you want to see them?" She asks. "If I didn't I wouldn't ask" I stated irritated she chuckled. "I'll go get them" The nurse says leaving out the room.

Just then I hear baby gurgling and I see my babies in their father's arms. "My baby, you're awake" My mom sobs coming over to me hugging me. I flinched at the pain. "Alyssa, she's still in pain" My dad said shaking his head. "Sorry sweetie, it's been a month you can't blame me really, you was out so long" My said causing me to smile. "Only one person in the room, so all the extras, get out" The nurse says sternly. Everybody leaves except Devin and my daughters. Alessia reaches for me so Devin hands her to me. "They missed you" Devin smiles at me. "I've missed them" I smiled at Alessia who was playing in my hair. "Anything happen since I've been out?" I asked. "Nope, just them catching Kimber and Hunter" He sighs pulling a chair up to the side of my bed. "Listen, I'm really sorry" He says. "Sorry for what?" I asked confused. "Cheating on you with Kimber, the place I've went to think she was there and I thought with my dick instead of my brain, it was stupidest mistake I've ever made, I don't want to lose you ever in this lifetime, please find it in your heart to forgive me" He says seriously. "Devin, I forgave you for what you did, I just need to regain that trust I had for you again" I said looking at him. He smiles before standing up and lean down to kiss me. "I will get it back, I promise" He smiles. "I hope so" I smiled back just when Alessia hits her daddy's nose. "We are one cute family" Devin smiles. "Aren't we?" I agreed.
