"Well, I see Harry's back to normal." I thought to myself with gleaming eyes. It was day three now since we left from the dock and I could see the island in the distance. "Looks like we'll arrive there at about night fall." Harry proclaimed like he was a pro. I got anxious as the hours pass, doing nothing at all. Just drinking a glass of wine and watching Harry try to act like
he knows exactly what he is doing. Nightfall came and it felt freezing. The breeze was not helping. Harry turned on Auto Drive finally. We wrapped ourselves in a warm blanket and sat on the bed below deck. We looked at each other and smiled. "We're almost there." I said to him in a soft voice. It got later and we fell asleep. A big bump woke us up. It was the shore and it was rough. The snow felt like rocks. Harry stepped out of the boat and cracked the ice he stood on as he walked. Once he set off the cracking sound, tons of animal sounds roared out like they were about to attack from all directions. I jumped back and grabbed Harry's hand. "So then, we're just heading into the dark without a plan. You heard those animals, they sound angry." "Are you kidding me, Alice? We're absolutely fine!" He pulled me back towards the island and we held hands tightly. I grabbed two sleeping bags and hopped off the boat. "I think we should sleep on this rocky ice for tonight cause I don't think we can set up camp at night. It will be much easier in the morning." I explained. He nodded and we laid the sleeping bags down. Before I laid down, I suggested that we start a fire. It was freezing. "Fine but I'll be getting the fire wood." Harry agreed. He came back out of the dark snowy woods with a pile of branches. I pointed at the spot in front of me on the ground. "Right there Harry." I grabbed to sharp rocks from the shallow water. I slid them together nice and fast repetitively. A flame started and a really warm feeling shot through my body. I smiled with a sense of comfort. I zipped myself up in the sleeping bag and Harry did the same. We rolled next to each other and warmed ourselves up by the fire. I fell right asleep after. The last thing I remember seeing was a sky full of constellations. It was amazing but that couldn't of changed my strange feeling that this island was not safe. The next morning was freezing. The sleeping bags were covered in snow and the trees were layered in frost. It was misty, not snowing though. I could hear my husband breathing heavily. "Are you okay? You might have caught a-- Aaaaaahhhhh" he was frozen solid but in that moment, I felt something shaking me and calling my name. I opened my eyes and Harry was there, perfectly fine. "Alice! Wake up! Are you alright?" It was misty but there was no snow on our sleeping bags or on the trees. Just on the mountain, which I was eager to get to. "I'm fine Harry, thanks. We still need rest." I fell back asleep and woke up, feeling like it had literally been only seconds that I had been asleep. Harry still wasn't up so I took a little walk. Trying to memorize the surroundings of this island. It was weird cause the island was warm, up until the point of the bottom of the mountain. The bottom? It didn't make too much sense. There was no wild life in sight. That made me think that the animals were all nocturnal, even though that didn't make too much sense either. But I knew I heard all those animal sounds last night, they were way too loud for me to not. I tried to find some food sources and maybe some materials for shelter. I found quite a few big palm leaves and plantains. I grabbed some wood and dragged it along with a couple plantains in hand back to the boat as well. Harry still wasn't up and our fire had already died out so I started a fire in a different spot, hoping that I wouldn't wake him up. After I finished grilling a plantain and scarfing it down. Finally satisfying my hunger, I returned back. Harry was up and sitting on the cushioned front seat. He was looking at the map and realized something. "Oh hi. We're kind of on the wrong island." He looked at me, upset. "I guess we'll have to leave tommorow morning. For now, let's just make sure that we have enough food and water to last us on the boat." Harry said. "How many days to travel?!" I said stressed. "Honey, it doesn't matter. Just stock up all the food and I'll start on the water." "How many days?!" I yelled, demanding a straight answer. "Umm well Nine days, okay?! Nine days." Harry crumbled the map. "I don't know what I'm going to do. But please don't worry, you're completely safe." I shook my head and started walking away. "We're stranded. It's not okay and we're not safe anymore. Who's gonna save us?"
I continued walking because I really needed space. I just wished that we could be there on the snowy island, we planned to be on.
