Damn, it really has been a rough year. Even freshman year of high school was still better than last year for me. I almost pushed my only daughter away forever, I almost died, or even almost accidentally murdered a kid!
God, Nathan. Stop thinking about that shit and get a grip.
At least I am sobering up, for real this time. It's been a whole month without a drop of whiskey, and my life couldn't possibly get any better.
You know those commercials that have kids singing the song "I can see clearly now that the rain is gone"? That's how I feel, just the alcohol and headaches are gone, not the rain.
I was hoping to get my position back at Western Summit being the AP U.S. History teacher, but I guess they've had enough of my shit. Once I heard I was never allowed back, I found a position that is probably a thousand times better.
You are looking at the new history professor of North Tucker University. No more juvenile delinquents or dickhead superintendents. I get to finally work with students who act like adults and professors who are probably way more sophisticated than I am.
Oh how wrong I was...

A/N
This is just a short introduction and some background on the "new" Nathan Gardner. I'm going to try writing this story in first person so let's see how this goes. If I hate writing in the first person (which I normally do), I will switch back but I'm going to try and get out of my "writing comfort zone" I guess. I hope you guys find this story interesting! Thanks guys!
