VERY IMPORTANT A/N AT THE END!!!!

Two Months Later...

Mila's POV

These two months have flown by it feels like. John and I have grown closer and I even told him the entire truth about my parents. He comforted me and even confessed to me that he used to dabble in drugs during his high school years. I'm very glad he is clean and has been for over ten years now. It's been great dating him for these months and he is surrounded by a loving family that considers me a part of it.

Although, something with him has changed recently.

It could be because he is getting more comfortable in the relationship, but his personality and behavior has been slightly changing and I want to know why. But I don't want to ask him about it because he might take offense and I don't want a stupid argument to occur over this silly observation I've made.

Maybe I should ask Nathan about it?

No, you haven't spoken to him outside of class in months. Don't bother the man, Mila.

"Something on your mind?" I snap out of my thoughts when Susan speaks. We are eating breakfast before class as the boys are running out to get coffee for all of us.

"Hm? Oh, just zoning out is all." She raises an eyebrow at me.

"Don't tell me it's John troubles..." I furrow my brows.

"What? No, my mind just likes to wander. I promise it's nothing concerning, just silly shower thoughts." I lie hoping she drops the subject. I know if I complain to her about John she will probably tell Charlie and he will relay it to John.

"Okayyyy. I'm here if you need to talk about anything." I know she doesn't believe me but I'm glad she dropped the subject.

"Thank you and the same goes for me. Anything you ever wanna talk about, I'm all ears." I assure her and she raises her eyebrows again.

"Anything you say?" I nod, wondering what she has on her mind. Maybe Charlie problems or something. "Great, because I hate talking to Charlie about this. My dad has been slightly concerning me lately..." My eyes widen at the mention of Nathan.

I hope he's okay...

"Why do you say that? Is everything okay?" I ask, trying not to sound too invested in anything about Nathan but it's just so difficult to not care about the man.

"Lately he seems more... down in the dumps I suppose. He's usually very bubbly and constantly making cringy jokes to embarrass me but that has ceased within the past few months..."

"Oh..." I say, not sure how else to comfort her about the situation. "Have you tried asking him if he's feeling upset?" She gives a loud laugh and I get confused.

"Asking my dad about his feelings? I never get a real answer out of him." I think for a second.

"Maybe he hides his feelings from you because he feels he needs to always be strong for you since it's just you and him in the house?" Now she thinks for a moment, digesting what I just said.

"Well shit... Why does it seem like you know my dad more than me?" She jokes but I start getting nervous and my heart starts beating faster.

"Maybe I can just predict possible scenarios that are true sometimes." I shrug.

"Here's your basic white girl order." Charlie's voice suddenly shouts.

"Charlie, you literally order the same thing as me." Susan rolls her eyes with a smirk.
