Brooke smiled at me while pushing her hair back with her hand. She was barefaced, no makeup on at all but she was absolutely stunning.

"Hey, I'm Violet as you already know," I shyly laughed.

Brooke smiled and then quickly walked over to the mahogany wardrobe in the corner of the room, and pulled out a school uniform.

"Here. You'll need to throw this on," she stated as she handed it to me, she was wearing one as well. It was your typical school uniform- button up shirt, plaid skirt, high socks, you know the drill. I looked around the room until I spotted the bathroom. Shutting the door behind me, I quickly got dressed into the uniform, and gave myself a look in the mirror.

I've never really hated the way I looked, but I don't necessarily find myself good looking, or attractive for that matter. My eyes were pretty much a solid dark blue, but they were fairly pretty. I had naturally dark eyelashes, and my dark brown eyebrows gently rested above my eyes, my freckles, placed just below my eyes and around my cheek area, closely resembled the color of my golden hair, and my rosy lips had a natural, sweet smile. Kind of the opposite of my personality, but whatever.

After taking one last look at myself in the dirty mirror, I made my way out into the room, to see Brooke sitting on her bed, reading a Seventeen magazine.

"Hi," I nervously spoke to her. She quickly glanced up from her magazine and smiled.

"Hey, I was thinking I could take you downstairs to the main floor so you could meet some people if you're okay with that," Brooke exclaimed.

"Yeah, that'd be great." I told her.

Once we had reached the main floor, I saw many people my age, crowded around, just talking to one another. Brooke led me though this huge room, surrounded by wooden walls as I passed many unfamiliar faces, who all seemed to stare at me. We kept walking until she suddenly stopped at this one table with about five other people at it. I nervously followed Brooke as she walked up to them.

"Hey Brooke, who's that?" A boy with blondish hair, that was parted in the middle and kind of flowed back, asked, while staring at me.

Brooke turned around and smiled at me, "Guys this is Violet, she's new here," she explained to the group.

"Damn she's hot," I heard one of the boys say. Gross.

The boy from earlier reached his hand out and looked me in the eyes, "Hey, I'm River," he mentioned with a shy smile. He had these gorgeous ocean eyes, it was almost as if they twinkled. My lips curved into a smile just from seeing him smile- he was beautiful.

We just kind of stared at each other until Brooke chimed in, "Um Violet, this is Wil, Sean, Winona, and Corey," She explained while pointing to the group of people. Like I'm gonna remember that.

"Dude is she single," Another boy with fluffy light brown hair mentioned out loud. Dear lord. End this. I just kind of shyly looked away, and met eyes with River again, who had been staring at me. I gave him a smile and he just kinda smirked at me. The group of people just continued to talk about their lives and whatnot.

It was currently lunchtime, meaning that we had two more classes today, and I would just be going for the two of them since I got here later. The day was also Friday, so the weekend was ahead of us. I'm not sure how weekends at boarding schools work, but I would assume they would give us a little freedom.. right?

The sound of a bell chimed through the entire building. I guess that would mean lunch is over, and it's time for class. I frantically pulled out my crumbled up schedule from the backpack I had been carrying around, and my eyes skimmed the paper as I realized I had math class next, with a professor named Mr. Richards I guess.

Storms of kids my age flooded through the room as everyone rushed to get to class, as I realized I was the only person left out of the group I was hanging around, except for Brooke.

// this is getting boring so I'm just gonna cut to the chase here lmao.

I ended up making it to my math class, and as I walked into the classroom I saw about 20 people, all dressed in the same uniform. It was a mixture of boys and girls, scattered around the room- some girls sitting on the desks, blowing bubbles with bubblegum, boys crowded at one table, probably talking about hot girls, who knows. The bell rang; everyone literally bolted into their seats, faster than fucking lightning.

There I was, standing in the middle of the goddamn classroom awkwardly alone.

The professor walked in, dressed in a suit, with glasses and slicked back brown hair.

"Hi everyone." He said sternly. I've never been so intimidated.

Oh and hey! Yeah I'm still awkwardly standing in the middle of the room.

Mr. Richards' eyes scanned the room until he looked straight at me, "you must be Violet," he stated with literally no expression.

"I am, sir."

"Welcome to Stevenson. You may have a seat next to River in the back corner," Mr. Richards stated, pointing to the sweet boy I had met earlier. I slowly made my way through the classroom, eyes all over me like an animal. I met eyes with River and sweetly smiled, as I plopped my bag on the ground and sat myself next to him.

I was scared to even talk, or take my eyes off Mr. Richards because, you know this is a boarding school, he's a professor, and.. He's kinda fucking scary.

After about five long minutes of boringness, I noticed River's hands slowly creeping towards my side of the desk, handing over a tiny white piece of paper.

"Hi. <3" the note read.

He was literally so adorable, I don't even know what it is about him.

We just kind of sat there the entire class, acknowledging each other here and there. River gave off this sweet, innocent vibe, but at the same time it was obvious that he was trouble.

/ that was such a weak chapter I apologize. I'm just not really in the writing state of mind right now, but it will get better, i promise (and I hope lmfao)
