My heart raced as I stepped into my first class of the day. Taking a deep breath, I casually walked in, like I have been here all my life. What surprised me most was that there were only 6 kids, including me. There were 2 blonde twins, who deviously smiled at me, A chubby boy, Carter and Jordan. None of them looked like they committed a crime.. (Well, the twins kinda did, but I'm not one to judge!) Jordan gave me a small wave and I headed over to sit with them when I heard a loud clap. I spun around to see Miss Helfer slap a ruler against the door as she walked in.
"AAAATTTTEEENNNTION!" She screamed."We have a new student! Her name is Charlotte. Treat her with absolute respect. OR ELSE!" I run to my seat before she can spit on me some more.
"Today we shall be defeating fear. Charlotte, since you are new, you can go in the fear room first." She smiles maliciously and shoves me into the door at the back of the room. "Have Fun, Dearie!"
The room was black. Pitch Black. I shuddered as wind blew me, and the room came to life. Bright lights flashed from all directions forming 5 words. What are you afraid of? The machine asked. I stuttered and whispered,
"Myself.."
The machine in the room whirred and my memories of what happened with Samantha shone before me. It was like I was watching a movie of myself killing her. It was scary, yet strangely satisfying. I mentally cheered myself on as I shoved her towards the window. But as she dropped out, I felt my heart beat loudly. I watched her body fall to the concrete and gasped. The machine took this as a sign to rewind and put it all in slow-motion.
It was like I was in a trance. I watched her body hit the concrete, head first, and have blood spurt out like an action movie. This was insanely scary. I screamed in sync with myself in the memory, and ran to the door. The machine sensed my movement, and it quickly locked the door. I banged my hands against the wood, praying someone would let me out. The blood still dripping in the movie. All of a sudden, it came alive. Blood spurted out of the corners of the room, dripping down the walls. I screamed and screamed as it slid down my fingers, soaking my light skin dark red. Tears poured out of my eyes and the room slowly began to overfill with blood. It started by soaking through my shoes, slowly making its way up my legs. I slipped, and the blood began to make its way down my throat, causing me to choke. I sank below the surface of blood, and suddenly the room exploded. A giant light poured into the room and all the blood began to evaporate.
"Oh dear, it seems like the machine went hay wire. I'm sorry dear." Miss Helfer pulled me out of the room and slammed the door shut. She handed me a towel, and I cocooned my body into it, feeding off of its warmth.
The boys jumped up with a surprised look on their faces. "What happened?" They asked.
"Blood. Too much blood." I croaked. The world began to dim around me, and I fell to the ground. Blackness consumed me, and I fainted into Jordan's arms.
