"Really!? Did you see his chest? Did you see them kiss?" Asks a fellow servant in training in the SH or Servant's hatch.

"No. It was really weird though. I saw princess Askari's butt."

"Uh, I hate her. She's a pain in the rear." Says Fret, a maid like me.

Everyone seems to hate the princess. I don't know why. She seems nice.

I miss my family. It's day three. I want to do the best I can.

"She is aggravating. She demoted me because her water was an inch too high." Tress, the other girl in the kitchen with me, replies.

"Right? I don't think the mage wants a daughter that bratty." Fret says.

"You have cleaning duty today. You have to sweep the king and prince's room. Go!" Saran yells at me. I grab my broom.

I start in the front of the hall. I sweep the carpet floor. Hello dust bunnies. I then get hell from Princess Askari, who was coming from Avalon's room.

"You again? Why are you always here? You are ruining my alone time with my future husband." She has a short gown on. I have to stand up before I get flashed.

"I have to start working, ma'am." I continue sweeping.

She puts her foot on my broom, "Did I dismiss you? You are slipping. I was just starting to like you. Wait until I tell the king."

She walks away. I stick my tongue out.

After I did the hallway, I skipped Avalon's room and went straight for the king's room. It was exactly the same as his son's except it was blue. The king mage was reading.

I knock, "Housekeeping. Sire."

He turns around, "Ah, yes. Just get the floor. I'll change my bed."

I nod and sweep his floor. He is humming a tune. The mage has gray hair. A long beard and yellow teeth. His face was slightly wrinkled. He looked like any typical dad. He even wore loose pants.

I try to sweep under the bed. I couldn't get a piece of dust from under the bed. Uh oh.

"Here." He waves his hand and the dust clumps into a ball and lands in the trash can.

"Thank you sire. Lovely tune you're humming." I should've just said thank you.

"Thank you. It's an old tune from my youth. One day, I'll teach it to you. I have a feeling you will be often." He smiles. He can sense the future. Amazing.

I walk out. I want to avoid the prince's room. I couldn't.

"Maid. You forgot my room. You can't forget it." You know who shouts from the back.

My shoulders drop. I slowly walk into the Prince's room. I sweep.
He takes the broom out of my hand.

"Let's talk about yesterday." He makes the broom fly in a corner.

"Sire, if I may....."

"Shhhh. I didn't say you could speak. You've been avoiding this room. I need to explain. Yesterday is not to be spoken about again."

"Done...."

"I didn't say you could speak. Askari is a pain. She doesn't like girls." He explains.

I nod. I wanted to erase my mind.
"Is that all, sire?"

"No. Stay. I'm lonely." He lies on his bed.

Yesterday proves you wrong, I think.

I sit down on the floor. He shakes his head. "Up on my bed. It's an order."

I quickly sit on his bed.

"My dad will like you. Very loyal. And too devoted to have sense to leave." He giggles. I sigh. I can't break any rules. "Come on. Tell me about your day. I'm bored."

I stop breathing. He wants to know my day. I smile. Then I get up.

"I cleaned, sire. Then bumped into your oh so lovely girlfriend." I didn't mean to say it like that.

"Wow." He nods. "You can't look her in the face, can you?"

"Sire, I saw her rear yesterday. I am highly uncomfortable. I will try to make her enjoy my service." I explain.

"Yeah yeah yeah. Good luck. She hates pretty girls. She's like a piranha. She will bite you if she pleases." He sighs.

He thinks I'm pretty.
****************************"**
The next day was horrible.

Mrs Saran assigned me to tend to Princess Askari. She stays in prince Avalon's room but spends most of her days in the royal guest room. Her kingdom is a long ways down the road.

First thing I had to do was paint her toe nails blue. She talked on her dial phone while I did.

"Yeah. Total hunk. I am so lucky I got him first. Ring on my finger and everything. Uh, maid, put another coat."

I roll my eyes, "Yes madam." I paint over her toes once more."

This is going to be a fun change of pace *sigh*.
