Benjamin's POV

I'm pretty sure we agreed on 12 sharp. It was already 12:48. Where was she? I wouldn't believe it if she stood me up. She agreed to meet me here & it's not lik-

"Hey, sorry i'm late."

"Hey. No it's fine."

Oh my dear god. She looked beautiful. I got up & we both walked up to the order desk.

"Hey, what can I do for you?"

"Hey could i get a grande vanilla bean frap?"

She was here often. I could tell because she didn't even look at the menu when she ordered.

"Sure. & for you sir?"

"Um, I would like the same."

The man asked us of our names, jotted them on a cup & i paid. Mallory walked over to the pick up section of the place.

"So are you at Starbucks often?"

"Are you kidding me? I love Starbucks!"

"Haha that's great."

A women called our names & our orders. We checked the back of the cup to make sure it was our names that were written on it. Mallory was headed for a table. I ran over, pulled her chair out before she even reached the table & helped her in. She had on a sweet perfume. It was vanilla.

"So how long have you lived here?"

I thought I was supposed to be asking questions.

"I've lived here my whole life."

"Oh that's nice. Have you ever had a girlfriend?"

"Um, I've had a lot of chances, but I've never taken them, so no."

I always heard a little voice in the back of my head telling me not to take any of those chances. I don't even know why. But that voice has been there ever since I can remember It would constantly reply in the back of my mind. 'Dont find a new best friend. Don't do it.' But I could never remember why.

"Oh."

"Have you ever had a boyfriend?"

"Well, I lived down here when I was little, my mother died & my father sent me away to live with my aunt. I was there for 13 years. My father got remarried & I have a little sister, but I finally moved back down here after i graduated to live around my family. I love it down here. The weather is much more appealing."

"We'll, that's nice. I'm sure your little sister just as beautiful as you."

When she blushed, I knew it. She was the Mallory Miller that moved away in kindergarten. It all came back. I finally remembered.

"Hey, um, do you think by any chance it's possible that you went to Brookside Elementa-"

"Hey sorry, hold on I have to take this call."

She had to take a call. She walked out the building & I had room to think now. I knew for a fact that was Mallory Miller from Brookside Elementary. I saw her walking back in.

"Hey, i'm so sorry but I have to go. My dad needs me to pick up my little sister from school. I'm so sorry."

"It's alright."

"Thanks so much for the coffee i really appreciate it."

She shook my hand & ran out the door. My god. She was even more beautiful now then ever. Even more then when she walked in.
