"Aero, I know you are frustrated but you have to calm down!" I exclaim.
"No, I won't Nexus, this marriage is outrageous!" he yells back.
He has been pacing around my room back and forth, and it's kind of annoying. He was shouting about how my little sister, Celeste, is getting married to King Elec. King Elec is our- I mean was our rival kingdom from the west.
"Nexus, do you approve of your little sister getting married to Elec of all people?" Aero asks.
I thought to myself how did it get to this situation from becoming king to getting asked if my sister is ready for marriage. I put my book down on my nightstand looking up at Aero. He looks exhausted, like he hasn't gotten much sleep. He has this burning hatred of fury in his eyes, but I knew it was mostly to cover up his sadness.
Aero Reagok is my childhood friend, and one of my best soldiers. I knew he was in love with my sister for a very long time so it hurt me badly to see him like this.
"I know Elec was an enemy before, but he has changed after he met my sister; Elec's a good person" I say, rising up from my chair. Placing my hand on his shoulder for support.
"Look, I respect my sister's decision even if you don't."
He glances at me with anger, but his expression slowly lowers. He put his hand back on my shoulder.
"I love you as a brother Nexus and Celeste as my true beloved, but one of those is becoming a dream now huh?" he says before he walks out the door.
"You will always be my brother Aero.''
At that time, I didn't know what to think after my conversation with Aero. I knew he was frustrated and heartbroken now, but I believed will going to be alright. I knew what his heart was feeling, but my mistake was I didn't know what he was thinking.
Some time passed before I left my room, and I began walking around the castle. The castle is quite new with the outer wall made of cobblestone and the inner walls are made with the best wood in the kingdom. The smell of food lingers from the kitchen nearby. It is about time for dinner I just remembered. I soon make my way to the dining hall; maids bow every time I pass them in the halls. It makes me pretty uncomfortable; always have, always will I guess. Even though I am the king of the Neo Kingdom, it doesn't feel right. I never wanted to be king, nor be one of the survivors of my family.
"Nexus...live on...be king, protect your sister..." My father's last words.
I will never forget them, and I want to live up to his words though I didn't like it. I enter the dining room seeing my sister Celeste and King Elec already eating at the dining table with my knights and the royals. Maids and cooks keep entering from the kitchen delivering off food at the table, collecting empty plates, then returning to the kitchen. The table was vast enough to sit forty people at max. Celeste spots me, and shouts
"Hey big brother!"
Everyone heard this proceeds to stand at attention up, bowing in my direction except Celeste. I give all my cues to carry on with their day, going about sitting back down to converse and chow down. Taking my seat next to Celeste at the head of the table.
"Hello Cece, Hello King Elec."
"Stop calling me Cece, it's annoying," Celeste murmurs back.
"Good afternoon," Elec replies.
"Well stop embarrassing me and calling me out and I just might Cece!"
Celeste is in a dress that was white as snow with her brunette hair long and straight, and Elec was in his under armor with a jacket over it like he wears casually. I have the same thing on as Elec but also I got my royal robe on and my crown. I look around seeing everyone's smiles and chatter. This makes me happy after we just been in war with Elec and his kingdom of Knigona. Unfortunately, Aero's seat was empty, and Angel's as well. The two I really wanted to celebrate this with. They're not the only ones missing here today though. I'm missing my most important generals that I sent home so they can see their families.
