I wake once again looking up to the sky this time. The sun is out, small clouds pass by, and it is warm with a nice summer breeze. I sit up slowly, feeling on my skin making sure I am okay. I am better than okay though, all my wounds were gone and I feel more stronger and light. I look around to see that I am in a meadow with long straight path to nothing but grass as far as can see. To my sides, it's a thick and narrow line of trees that lead into a shady forests on each sides. I push myself up as I am now standing. What happen to me? I hardly remember anything. I close my eyes to focus on what happen last. Then imagines of the others screaming in pain appeared quickly as it disappeared. I shoot my eyes open, panicking and worried. Where are the others, and how did I get here? I start to run down the meadow, looking for anyone that could be around. After a good twenty minutes of running; there was no luck. The weirdest part is that I feel like I wasn't going anywhere as I ran. Everything looks the same as I ran. I rest looking ahead that looked just like the same thing, and then turn around to see the exact same picture. I look up at the sun that is really bright, and radiant as small white clouds pass by. "So how you like the view?" I quickly look ahead of me to see an unfamiliar face smiling at me. "Who are you?" I reply. He is a man in a suit with a tie on; he had blue eyes and black hair. "You know me King Nexus." the person acknowledging me smiles. That voice... it sounds like... "Core?" I muster as I am in shock. "Correct, this is me before I was turned into what you seen before." he explains. "I...I'm... confusing this is-" I say holding my head backing up slowly. "That's why I came to explain everything to you all." Core says walking up to me. "All... you mean the others!" I exclaim. "Indeed, they are all close by." Core says. "Where though?" I ask frantically. "In due time King Nexus, but first let me answer some of your questions." Core says as he slowly sits. I follow his example and took a seat, making sure to be cautious of him. I don't trust him at all, he is a strange being, but if he gives me answers then I got no choice. "There is plenty to explain, so I'll start on where we are." "We are in a realm between Earth and the heavens." Core explains. "What how is that possible?" I ask. "It is though, it is called After Realm, In myth this place is where the gods and only gods resided, but they became cautious that the humans will one day arrive on holy lands spreading tained problems so the gods went three realms higher than this one." Core says calmly. "That's a weird myth, I never heard of that one before." I tell him. Mom always used to tell me about myths and histories that I loved to learn about. "Wasn't they glad when their prediction was right? We manage to enter this realm from our dreams." Core says as he chuckles. "What... so this is my dream... then you're inside my head" I ask trying to process this. "Well in a way yes, but more like in this realm dreams connect, so were both in each other dreams" Core says. "Now let's explain how you got here, do you remember getting into the machine?" Core asks. "Yeah I do, that pain was... more than I ever wanted that I rather die." I say trying to forget the pain. "That pain you endured has given you powers like no others, a power which will you can use to be gods yourselves" Core says grinning. "What are you talking about?" I ask. He is joking right, I have powers like those people in the mask? He is talking nonsense, but then again all that pain to not do something to my body would be stranger. "Powers from the surge you received, that surge came from a serum hidden away by Epsilon Sagen." he says. Epsilon Sagen was the scientist who wrote that final data, and Co-founder of the Oblivion Labs right? "Wait... that serum that has the muta cells!" I panic as I jump up looking at myself, check if I have green goo leaking out from somewhere. "Please calm down, the nanotech controls the muta cell so you won't change." Core says standing up. "Nexus, you and your friends now have the serum that gives you powers that is powers like gods!" Core says excitedly. "With this serum you get strength in all parts of your body, including your mind that allows you to come to the After Realm as you sleep. But since you just got the cells, it has not fully developed, so you can't do all the general things a normal muta user can do. Like for instance connection with others in the After Realm like I did with you or sensing others who is a muta users." Core explains. I am starting to understand a little bit, but there was still too many missing answers. "This is a lot to process, but all of this was your plan wasn't it?" I look at him, he was only smiling to what I ask him. "Not really I only told Aero his answer for where he could have power to change the things he regret, which was the serum" Core says looking up. "I told him about the machine and where was the serum, only thing I did was activated it for him." I sorta understand why Aero would want power because he was hurt, confused, angry. Even still, to do something that rash was too dangerous. "I get it now fine, I don't truly believe it yet but now tell me how to get of here." I tell him impatiently. "First, we need to expand your muta cell development to connect with the others in the After Realm." Core mentions. "Then how to I develop it?" I ask. Core starts walking back slowly. He got a few paces away, as the wind started to blow slightly, the trees start rustling. In an instant, Core body lit up making me cover my eyes from the brightness. I uncover my eyes to see Core in a battle gear, a dark armor color steel as it shine brightly. Core has a serious face with a intent of overwhelming malice. His eyes starts to turn black again with his physical body started to bulk up. "What are you-" I manage to say before I am interrupted by a flash of lighting. The look up to see the sun was becoming backed with dark storm clouds, the wind turned into a whirlwind of pressure almost blowing me off my feet. "This is your lesson, and your trial Nexus, if you don't awaken your abilities here I will kill you here." Core says as his normal voice turned into this raspy corrupt voice. I am silent, this is beyond what I have seen so far. The wind starts lifting up the trees sending them flying far from their roots. Core raise his left hand, and as he did the storm clouds scatter till there was a hole. "Your trial begins...now." Core says when a lightning bolt came crashing down onto him. The bolts crash sent me flying up and hard into the ground. I closed my eyes, trying to endure the pain...that wasn't there. Huh, that should have hurt me, at least my back that I landed on but it doesn't hurt just tingle a bit. I open my eyes to the grass, and trees in the meadow gone. It's not even a meadow anymore; it looks like a dried battlefield. I stand up glancing at Core who got a lance and a shield now. His lance was a pyramid shape from the handle leading to the point and this shield is shape in the form of a diamond with razor sharp blades on the sides. He got into a battle position as this purple type aura is flowing off of him. What is that? I think I seen it before, but this is the first time I seen it so clearly. It dances off Core as he starts to move closer to me. I brace myself as he walks closer. With no weapons and no idea what he means about abilities, this seems like situation I will be in plenty of times ahead. This dream just became a nightmare.
