Bucky Barnes:Life Saver

Bucky and I had been very good friends for a while now, and when I mean a while I refer to as two whole years. Two whole years of constant tension between us. If I see he coming through the door I automatically stare at the floor and blush like a tomato. When Bucky sees me, he is a complete mess. He drops his coffee mug he breaks a dish if he is washing dishes and he even forgot to put on pants! This tension between us is driving me to the border line of insanity. I just can seem to wake right to him and confess to him that I have some feelings for him , some very strong feelings. But today is going to change, I'm going to tell him the truth. If he doesn't feel the same way then I will have to hide under a rock dos the rest of my life.

It is both our days off and I see Bucky and Steve conversing about how to work Bucky's new tablet that Steve got him as a gift. "No Buck I think the power button turns on by tapping the screen gently.." "No Steve ...Y/N told me that it has a side button and you have to wait until it vibrates or something.." I hear Bucky say with annoyance. As I was about to enter Maria and Nat come through the door in their combat outfits and with ours in hand saying " Guys suit up, we have to fly to Venice and infiltrate a secret HYDRA facility. Tony will only be directing us to were it is since he has a broken arm and leg."

We all suit up as quicka as we can and head out to the helicarrier stacking up on ammunition and all of what we need. Bucky was taking to Steve and I was per usual loading up my gun when Cap said "Alright Hill will stay undercover in here and be ready to flyvis out when we have infiltrated and destroyed the HYDRA base, gathering up all their information. Nat and I will be out side the perimeter and heading to the north side of the base. Bucky and Y/N will then go south and enter. Y/N I need you to back up all the hard drives and Buck I need you to keep an eye on your partner and kill any of the agents there. We can not let any of them out." Everyone just nodded to what Steve said and prepared for the landing. Nat came over to me and passed me a note saying "I heard Barnes really likes yoy and requested to be your partner on this mission. Thia is your chance girly :)" and then left winking at me witha smirk on her face trying not to laugh at how flusterd I became. As I was about to put the note away Bucky came to my way and said "Hi ... Uh..Y/N are you ready for this?" he asked sounding very nervous even though he was the Bucky Barnes that was a total ladies man back in the day. "Umm yes I just meed to use the ladiea room and I'll be set. ",I say with a smile trying not to sound nervous. I quickly make my way to the restroom and through away the note. I emptied all the thoughts put of mind and concentrated on the mission that we were one.

Right after I came out we had already landed and Bucky was waiting for me haning his riffle at his side. We walked for what seemed like a good twenty minutes until I finally worked up the nerve and said , " I really like your hair cut Buck. It suites you." Oh god that was so hard to say but it paid off when he said in return "Thank you doll, I was wanting to cut it for a while but you know it is hard to make time when you are to busy saving people. But I'm happy that you are my partner today." He looked straight in my eyes as he was saying that and all I did was smile and make small talk. We talked sbout how it was like back in the day, how technology has changed and talked about our selves.

We had fianlly made it to thw HYDRA base with out running into anybody. Bucky stepped in first having his gun ready to shoot if necessary. He then motioned for me to enter and having the same position as him I entered the base cautiously. We walked down a couple of halls when we finally entered the room to gather all of the intel we could get. As I was backing up the hard drives Bucky was walking around the room making sure we were safe. But all the sudden out of know where, bullets were running through the room. I quickly dicked down with my gun in my hand and with the other one I grabbed th usb drive. Bucky was on the other side of the room shooting at some HYDRA agents when he motioned me to stay down. But I couldn't there was an agent on something high aiming right at Bucky. I quickly stood up and aimed at him knoking him out and eventually he died in the matter of seconds. Then I felt a sharp pain come to my right hand knocking my gun out of my hand, as well as it was bleeding. It really hurt but there wasn't any excess bleeding.

I sat down trying to remain calm while Buck finished with the last agent. He came to my side and caried me out of the base. Once we were out I told him that I was able to walk o my own and that it wouldn't be necessary to carry me. "I know it is not necessary but I want to carry youl. Besides I just saved your life." he said sounding very sarcastic and having a smug grin on his face. I playfully hit his chest and say with a burst of confidence,"No I saved you life, there was an agent aiming right at your big ole head. If it wasn't for me you wouldn't be here." "Oh shut up you love my big ole head. Besides the best part of today is that we get to go home. I have an amzing girl lying on my arms and I get to take care of her as soon as we get thwthe helicarrier." he says kissing my temple ever so tenderly. "So does this mean you have feeling for me?" I ask innocently. "Who do you think sent you the note? I think that was very clear." he says as he is looking in my y/c/e eyes. "Oh well I feel the same way too.", I say as we are boarding on. Through out the whole way home, Bucky mended my arm and we spent the rest of the day cuddling and watching my favorite movie Man of Steel.
