Long Way Home

c h a p t e r 1

Today is the day i had been dreading for so long. Why can't i be like any other girl and have a perfect life staying in 1 city, have all the friends you need, chill in the pool with the squad, everything.

But nope I'm Rain Matthew Winters. My dad is wanted in prison, I'm 16 and have moved states/countries 12 times because of my mom's job, i have bullies, and i have 1 friend that i skype almost everyday named Alice, and i have my own issues.

I'm not like the stero typical girl either though, I'm punk rock (not really) and wear band tees and ripped skinny jeans even in 100° weather. I guess I'm a bit of an out cast but I'm not all quiet and shy like most girls.

If i get made fun of i stand up for my self and I'm not afraid to get in fights. I'm not afraid to get my hands a little dirty if it'll get the job done, and honestly i don't care what anyone thinks. Yes, you could call me a bitch but what ever.

"Rain honey come on the plane leaves in an hour, we gotta go!" my mom yelled at me from down stairs of our soon to be old house.

"Okay let me say bye to Alice!"

"I'll talk to you when i land okay? Bye!" i turned to talk to my computer screen to Alice, my best friend of 7 years.

"Okay see ya!"

I packed the last of my things really fast and jumped into the car with my mom and was ready to go.

I'm not happy that I'm leaving here but then again i am. Not alot of people liled me around here but i liked it here in New york, it's probably one of my favorite states my mom and i have lived in.

"We're barely gonna make this hun we've gotta run."

"Okay mom I'm right behind you" my mom was all paranoid about kissing the flight but we still have 30 minutes, we're fine.

Once everyone was boarded onto the plane they said the normal emergency handout explanation anx seat belt blah blah blah. Then we were set to take off. I will miss it here but i kind of have a good feeling about Australia.

I put in my ear buds and played weightless by All time low and put the rest of the play list on shuffle and drifted off.

"Thanm you for flying with us, have a great stay" i woke up to find out we had landed and i could stand.

Oh man. I'm starving.

"Hey mom,how mucb do you love me?" i asked her.

"Depends on what you want."

"Can we go get pizza?"

" yea, the furniture and our bags won't be at the house for a few more hours, i can show you your school and stuff too."

"Okay great" i smiled.

We got our rental car since we need to buy a new one for here and drove around till we found a pretty cool place called "pizza planet" (a/n idek it's random lmao) and my mom decided to make me go in.

"Hello! Welcome, what can i get you today?" the lady begind the counter asked me.

"Uh can i get one cheese pizza and one supreme taco pizza please?"

"Of course I'll get that right in, you can just wait over there." she said as she pointed to an area where i saw 4 boys being really ridiculous and a few other random people waiting for their pizza.

There wasn't any seats open so i just sorta stood there awkwardly.

"Hey i like your shirt! Green day is amazing." i heard someone say.

I ignored mit but then realized i was the only one there wearing a green day shirt.

"Oh uh me? Yea their pretty cool" i said flustered as i got the first good look of one of the four boys i saw earlier.

2 words.

I'm. Fucked.

"Hey are you new here i haven't seen you around before?" the one with hazel eyes asked me.

"Yea, i came from new york." i replied. Shit they're all hot.

"Oh well welcome to the mpst boring place on earth, the suburbs of sydney!" he dramatically introdiced the city.

"Thanks?" i said as more of a question than intended.

"Don't mind him, he's kind of the weird one of the group." another with dark brown eyes said.

"Being weird isn't bad though" i replied.

"See, she understands me cal" the hazel eyed one said.

"Hey hazel eyes, fringe god, and person who hasn't spoke yet i think your friend is waiting on you." i said looking over at the guy with bright green hair holding 2 boxes of pizza.

"Oh sorry mikey hold on we're coming, i was nice meeting you..?"

"Rain" i finished for him.

"Oh nice name" the fringe god spoke.

"'Fringe god' is calum, me 'hazel eyes' is ashton, the quiet one is luke, and the one with crazy hair is Michael by the way, maybe we'll see you around."

"Yea maybe." i replied.

Finally i got my pizza and walked out to the car.

"Hey mom sorry it took so long, there was a long line."

"It's okay, lets go see your school now" she smiled.

"Sounds good." i said

My school is HUGE to say the least. But honestly so is the house, i was really suprised at how big they were.

"Thanks for driving me around , it was fun." i told my mom while we unpacked.

"No problem honey, i really hope you like it here, we should be here for a while."

That kind of re assures me that this could be the best move my mom's job has given us.
