This is based off of a new fanfiction I'm working on, do not steal.

"Oh my god, I dropped my ice cream. Of course," I heard Calum say. I look over at him and then at the ice cream on the ground before laughing.

"Nice job." I reply.

"Do you have any ice cream at your place? I was really in the mood," Calum pouted. I nodded my head 'yes' and started to walk back home again. This boy always gets what he wants.

Calum and I walk side by side, completely ignoring the smushed ice cream filled cone we left in the middle of the sidewalk. Whatever.

"I haven't been to your house in a while, is everything still the same?" Calum asked, I noticed him putting his hands into his pockets.

"Yes. Well, actually," I start. "My aunt gave me her cat, which I'm really happy about because I've known that cat since I was like, nine, and--"

"Um, you have a cat?" Calum cut me off. I sighed at the boy's sudden change in demeanor.

"Yes. I do."

I heard Calum scoff. Does this boy hate cats or something?

Calum and I soon enter my house, him hesitating a bit. I lead him into my living room where I see my cat laying on the couch.

"Wow, you were being serious," Calum chuckled.

"Duh. This is Tallulah, my very old cat," I introduce my cat to Calum and he seems very hesitant to walk closer so I reassure him. "She doesn't bite or scratch, okay? She doesn't care for much anymore, I doubt she'll care about you enough to harm you."

"I don't care, Luke. Get that satanic animal away from me."

Wow, it's crazy the way people treat cats these days.

"Calum, just pet her."

"No."

"Calum."

"I hate cats!"

"Well too fuckin' bad! I'm strictly a cat person but whenever I'm at your house I don't bitch and moan about your dog!" I exclaim.

"Luke, it isn't that deep," Calum says in a more gentle tone. He sighs. "Fine, I'll sit next to your cat, Lulah, whatever her name is."

I smile as Calum sits next to Tallulah. Finally, I knocked some sense into him. I sit down on Calum's lap and relax as his arm wraps around me. I watch him pet the old black cat as she purrs.

I told him it wasn't that bad.

"I'm still a dog person," Calum blurts out.

"Mhm, I know, and I'm still a Calum person," I reply. Calum quickly turns his head to face me. I try to say another word but Calum suddenly has his lips pressed against mine. His arms are wrapped around my waist and my hands are placed on his shoulders as our lips move in sync.

The kiss lasts a while until we both pull away for air.

"Wow, I didn't think an old black cat would bring us closer together, but I guess I was wrong," I say as Calum's smile grows brighter. I place my hand on his cheek and lean in to kiss him again.

And I am mentally thanking Tallulah.
