Connor was over as quick as he could. He didn't care if he looked like shit from crying, his friend needed him right now, so nothing else mattered to him at the moment.

He saw police cars in front of his house, and he wondered what happened. He rushed up and into the house, neon careful enough so he wouldn't accidentally hit a police officer.

Eventually, Connor found Troye sitting on the floor, curled in a ball.

"Troye! Troye, what happened?" He asked, sitting down next to him and pulling him up into his lap gently, before hugging him. Troye didn't seem to mind this, and he just really wanted to comfort his friend right now. He looked like he needed it. "Are you hurt?"

Troye nodded softly, groaning a bit as he shifted in his arms a little, before simply leaning against him. "My dad... It was my dad." He takes in a deep, shaky breath as his eyes well with tears. "He's going away, but everything just hurts right now. I'm so sore. It was awful. I'm sure I've had worse, but I hate this so much."

"Shhh, it's okay, it's over now. You said he's going away, so it's over now," Connor said softly, rubbing one hand up and down his friend's sore back, trying to relieve some pain but also help him feel better.

Troye was sure that there were multiple reasons he was crying right now. One was because of the guilt balled up inside of him from earlier. Another was because he was in pain.

"Don't... Don't let go of me. Don't put me down. I wanna stay right here. I'm comfortable, and I really need comfort right now," he said, a few tears trickling from his eyes, and slowly down his cheeks.

"I won't, Troye. I'll stay here as long as you need me to. I just want you better," he said softly.

Tyde walked past the pair to go outside, and he caught a glimpse of Troye crying. He'd have to ask later about that, even though he was sure he already knew why.

"Thank you," he whispered, closing his eyes as he just stayed in his friend's lap, leaning against him gently. "Thank you for staying, and for being here for me."

"Of course. I'll always be here for you, no matter what. You're my best friend," Connor replied with a small smile. It kind of hurt to imply the fact that Troye was just his best friend, when he wanted to be so much more than that. He loved Troye more than anything, and he didn't know if he'd ever move on from him. If so, it'd be quite hard.

It kind of gave Troye heart pains to hear that he was Connor's best friend. He swore that at that part, he heard a slight touch of emphasis added to the words 'best' and 'friend'. Troye soon came to the conclusion that it was only his imagination making him think that. "I appreciate that. Speaking of always being here, I never asked you; I know you were crying earlier, I heard it over the phone. Why were you crying, Con? What's wrong?"

Connor was speechless. How was he supposed to tell his best friend he loved him?? He tried thinking of an excuse, because he knew he needed to think of one fast. "It's just... Family issues. Don't worry, though, I'm fine." Connor gave a smile, but just that smile alone said otherwise. The smile was a bit reassuring, but mainly it was a sad smile. Troye didn't believe it.

"Con..." He sighed, sitting up in his lap to look at him, one of his hands resting on Connor's shoulder to steady himself. "Be honest. What's up?"

"Do you not believe me, Troye?" Connor's smile faded, and his eyes had a dulled shimmer to them. The shine in his eyes just wasn't as bright as it usually was. It worried Troye. What really happened? Did he do something wrong? Did something else in Connor's life really happen?

"No, I really don't... I'm sorry, Connah. Don't be mad. I just... That smile wasn't as happy, and the shine in your eyes isn't as bright as it usually is. Something's wrong, and as your best friend, I have the right to worry. What's wrong? Please, please, please be honest. I just want to help," Troye says, his eyes soft and pleading. He really did just want to help his friend to be happy again. He had no clue what was wrong.

You can't do anything to help, Connor thought, because what's wrong is your own doing. It's also my fault because I'm the one that fell in love with someone I shouldn't fall in love with. This can't be fixed that easily. Connor took in a deep breath, and then slowly exhaling it. "I just had a fallout with one of my friends. Well, now ex-friend. It's kinda hard, especially when I've had this friend for a couple of years now." Lie. He felt bad lying to him, but he couldn't express to him or tell him what was really on his mind, how he truly felt deep down...

"Oh," Troye said, his voice hushed and practically a whisper. "I'm sorry. They didn't deserve you as a friend anyways." Troye had no clue that he was being lied to, but he felt bad for Connor, even though it was just some made-up story. Whoever decided to break a friendship with Connor was crazy, in Troye's opinion. Connor's a great friend.

"Don't be, Troye. I'll be fine. Right now, I just want you to worry about yourself, and nothing else. I'll be here for you the entire time and never leave your house until you're completely better, if I have to. I know you're going to need me probably, so that's why I'm saying that." Connor stopped his sentence there, because he knew that if he kept going, it'd turn into rambling, and then there would be no way to shut him up afterwards.

"I'm not sure that'll be necessary, but thanks for the offer! Remember, I still have Tyde, Sage, and Steele here," he said, giggling. "I find it cute you offered, though." Wait, did he just say he found it cute?? His cheeks tinted pink and he glanced away in slight embarrassment. He liked him and all, but he didn't know if he liked him back.

Connor's own cheeks turned a bright pink as well. He also had just noticed the police men were gone. He opened his mouth to say something, but then his phone vibrated, indicating that he got a text. He gently nudged Troye out of his lap, before grabbing his phone and reading the text. "Oh, I have to go. I promise I'll be back soon!" He said his final goodbyes before leaving the residence.

Troye soon got up slowly, and headed to the couch. Tyde soon joined him on the couch. "Troye, earlier I noticed you crying. Was it dad, or something else?"

Troye looked over at him, before his eyes slowly began to well with tears again. "Tyde, it's what dad did to me, but it's not just that." He suddenly burst into full tears, before gripping onto his brother, hugging him. "I fucked shit up, I know I did!"
