VII: Garden of silence

They tiptoe through the garden's maze
Wondering through their colourful daze
Marching over the vibrant grass
Gliding 'cross pebbles, shining like glass
Through aegean waters, silver swims
Mountainous lands, with their jutting limbs

They scurry, quick, to find their prey
A black haired maiden with her fierce eyes grey
Seldom she spreads fear through the land
While she buries her feet in the sand
Her dagger attached to her hip
Her demons attack every passing ship

The soldiers, clad in midnight cloaks,
Count all of the passing oaks
To create a stable backwards route
In case they can't persuade the brute
To stop her oncoming assault
With failure to admit all her faults.

They find her lair within a rock
Upon a boulder, there they knock
Alerting the lady resting inside
Reaching the door in a single stride
Sword by her side, staff in her hand
She moves the rock, and there they stand.

Weapons up in their defence
She glares right back making them tense
"Why are you here?" She stifles a yawn
"Mary said you wouldn't be here 'til dawn"
She raises her palms, grey eyes now gold
Metallic sparks turning the air cold

Fire swims across her palm
Spreading through like a ticking bomb
Circling the respected men
She chanted, counting to ten
Eyes open, she smirks again
Laughing as they drop dead.
