The school halls we're bustling with students. I manage to make my way to my locker alive as the crowd of students parted when they saw me. Being the most popular girl has its advantages. My best friend, Cassie Kane, was waiting for me.

"Hey Cass!"

"Sup, Mal!" [pronounced as Mel]

Cassie and I have been best friends since kindergarten and no one else knew me like she did.

"So...did you bring any cupcakes for me?" she asked.

"Of course I did! And I could have brought more if the cupcake thief didn't come."

Cassie laughed and said, "I bet he likes you,"

I shrugged.

"Impossible"

"C'mon Mel, recently he's teasing you more than usual and when boys tease, it's most probably because they like you"

"Most probably only"

The bell rang, marking the end of our conversation.

"See you later, Mal"

I waved and headed to my class. Maths. My least favourite subject.

As I walked to my class, I saw Luke and he winked at me. I frowned. Why did he so that for?

When school finally ended, I walked home in silence when I heard a bunch of boys talking loudly behind me. I gritted my teeth when I heard Luke's voice. As usual, Luke's friends were going over to his house to play games. Those bunch of boys are total gamers. I didn't understand how Luke could be so popular when he's a nerd. He's not like those cool boys who plays skateboard or something. Well, okay, maybe Luke does have some swag.

"Hey, Cupcake, you gonna make some more cupcakes tonight?" Luke shouted.

"And just watch you and your nerds gobble it up? I don't think so"

"Hey! I'm not a nerd!" Sherwayn protested.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. And if you boys even think of coming into my house later, I'll pepper spray you" I said before entering my house.

To my surprise, they didn't disturb me that day. And I admit I was kind of disappointed too. Okay, I might have a teeny, tiny crush on Luke. But what are the chances of him liking me, right?
