"Hey, Mal! We should totally go to the mall later. We need to get a new dress for Luke's party. I heard that it'll be the best party ever!!" Cassie said during lunch a few days later.

"Huh? What party?" my eyebrows furrowed.

"Umm... you know, his birthday party. You didn't get invited?" Cassie asked, not believing.

I shook my head. What did I tell you about my chances of Luke liking me back. It's....minus infinity.

I sighed. I picked on my lunch as I wondered Why he didn't invite me. I'm his next door neighbor for years. And still he didn't bother to invite me to the biggest bash of the year.

As my thoughts swarmed me, a warm hand rested on my shoulder.

"Hey Mallie..."

I recognised that voice anywhere.

"Luke? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Umm... I'm just...umm... wondering if you could come to my party? If you'll come I'm sure everyone else will come. You're the Cupcake Queen after all." he smiled at me.

I blushed. His smile was so cute!

"Umm... sure..."

"Great! See you there," he handed me an envelope and waved.

I stared after him.

What just happened?

I looked at the envelope in my hands. It was light pink with a large ribbon on it. I was officially invited to Luke's party!!! Yay!!

Cassie took a double look at my invitation.

"Wow, he put much more effort for you. Look at mine, it's plain" Cassie said as she held her invitation.

It was plain. Like, really plain. White with black words. The font isn't even fancy.

Cassie looked at me. Her eyes were saying "He sooo likes you" but I kind of ignored it.

"So, are we still on later?" I smiled.

"Of course!! And we're going to find the bestest, most cutest outfit for you!!" she exclaimed.
