Hikes are exhausting.
Why would anyone voluntarily walk long distances when we're living in the 21st century with cars and vehicles to babysit our lazy butts?
Apparently though, I'm not the only one who finds them traumatising.
"This - is - killing - me," Eve lets out an aggravated sigh and wipes her forehead with her hand dramatically. She's very dramatic, Eve is.
"My life sucks," Eve continues, "I'm not kidding, I have Noah Johnson as a partner. Noah Johnson? Why Noah Johnson?"
"Be grateful he's not Mr Moody," I reply in a monotone voice, so that if he's nearby, he won't hear me.
"I still think I prefer Mr Moody to Noah. At least Drake isn't rumoured to be the biggest man-whore on the entire campus. You should've seen him this morning. Did Drake pelt you with the dumbest pick up lines in the history of pick up lines?"
"No, but I wish he did because he is one fine man," I say, laughing, not sure if I really mean my words.
"Agreed!" Eve replies excitedly, "And if he dropped his sex-crazed attitude, I'm pretty Noah will be cute as well."
"Hmm," I nod smiling.
Madison gets us to finally stop walking and we reach a really large waterfall and I look up in awe.
"Okay guys, this is a really nice place to take some photos so find your partner and use this time wisely," Madison explains.
It's not that hard for me to find Drake.
He's standing alone, looking out to the river, with his hands in his pockets, looking like a creepy psychopath with his indifferent posture.
I walk over to him and he barely registers me.
"What do you want to take a picture of?" I ask.
He shrugs.
"Okay, then." I say, a hint of annoyance in my tone.
"How about we take a picture of you in front of the waterfall?" He offers, raising his camera ready to take a picture.
I put my rucksack and camera down next to him and walk towards the waterfall.
It's so beautiful. The water is gleaming in the sunlight and it's a really nice blue colour. The trees surrounding it are full of red and pink colours.
I face Drake, not sure what to do.
"No, face the other way. And move to the right a bit."
I do what he says and I hear a 'click' behind me.
"Angle yourself a bit, so I can see some of your face."
I blush a bit at actually hearing him speak like this, and angle myself so I'm looking out at the waterfall but the camera can see me as well.
I hear another click.
I can see others climbing the rocks near the waterfall and I really wish I can go join them.
As if he's reading my mind, Drake asks, "Do you want to go in?"
I turn to face him, furrowing my eyebrows in confusion.
"No, I never said anything about going in - "
Before I can finish my sentence, Drake gives me a sly smirk before coming closer to me and pushing me back into the water.
