Bella
Zane sat at the other end of the table, a large roast in front of him, as well as a glass of Sea Elven punch, aka, a vile drink that resembled champagne, but tasted like the werewolf wine. Vile stuff, but the Sea Elves have always been prideful, even if they made something disgusting, they would still claim it to be the best drink in the world. The pale green drink bubbled as he took a sip.
“So, Princess Bella, what is it that you wished to speak of?”
I sipped my own drink, a smirk on my lips. “Oh, a simple little matter that concerns our marriage.” The crimson liquid ran down my throat, hot: bringing out the best flavor it could contain. I had no food in front of me, the drink being the only item I consume.
He looked at me with concern. “I hope there isn’t anything wrong. I would hate for you to be worried.” His blonde hair was haloed by the sun, gold.
“Oh, there isn’t anything wrong, per say. But, I have perceived something that concerns me significantly. Why are you infatuated with Jane Garner?”
He flinched. “With who?” The smell of his lie hit the air, ozone. The foolish boy. He simply doesn’t understand what I am, and what I can detect. What shall I do with him now?
I drained my glass. “you know very well what I am talking about.” I sighed as I stood. “Zane, you know I love you.” The words were true enough, but he was so rash, he wouldn’t see this coming until it was too late. I could feel the knife in my sleeve, its iron blade colder than my skin.
He smiled the smile that had won me over. He strode over to me, eyes filled with lust. “Bella—”
I put my finger to his lips, stopping his words. “Wait before you say anything. Let me tell you that I am the better option for you—” I paused, his disappointment in the air like lavender. Sweet. I struggled not to lick my lips in anticipation.
“Let me finish. Bella, I love you.” He muttered.
The knife slid from my sleeve to my hand. With my free hand, I grabbed his collar and pulled him down to my height and kissed him. He tried to deepen the kiss, his tongue pushing at my lips. I pushed him away. "Zane..."
"I knew picking you was the best option. You make me whole." He smiled.
I pretended to laugh, which made him smile again. "I'm glad you did. but what abut that wretched chambermaid? What was her name? oh yeah, Jane. Pathetic waste of air, don't you think?"
he flinched ever so slightly, "Jane means nothing to me, Bella. Its you I want." the air filled with ozone yet again. Fool.
"Good. I don't want any competition, even though I know I would win. She is pathetic after all."
"yes..."
I pulled the blade in front of me, studying the curvature of it. Straight up through the ribs and into the heart, just stopping a inch before puncturing the vital organ: that's the blade's final destination. "before you say anything else, I must do something."
"What is that?" there is only one thing that I would do with it, and yet he wasn't even figuring out what it was. and I thought he was brighter than that.
it went into his chest, just missing his heart. he fell back, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"You are so easily deceived, Zane. That was one thing I hated most about you."
he coughed, has blood now staining the floor. "Why,,, Bella?"
I straddled him, my hands on his chest. The crimson liquid filled the air with a coffee-like smell. I breathed in deeply, savoring the air. A sea Elf had never been my victim before, and i was relishing in my lust. What would it take like going down my throat? Would his blood be spicy, or sweet? Would I crave all of it, or be filled with only a few mouthfuls?
"Foolish boy." i hissed as my fangs emerged. "Did you not think that enough is enough? when did you think that i would stop allowing you to flirt with one of my maids? did you honestly think that I wouldnt be angry? You are a fool, Zane of Glineth. A beautiful fool who i have somehow managed to fall in love with. You claim to love me as i love you, but do you really?"
his eyes fluttered closed, the bloodloss now too much for him. "I... curse you, Bella of Monte. I curse you to never to go to Heaven nor Hell. You will forever try to get me as your husband, but you willl not prevail." HE spoke softly, slowly.
I lost all air, as well as sight for just a moment. I saw only a circle of people in simple elegant silk robes. The woman closest to me shook her head, her hair was plaited with pearls and diamonds. "I am sorry, my child. It was never supposed to be like this, but you will take your revenge, and for the price of your search for love, you will kill. I never thought it would turn out this way, And i am so so sorry. Perhaps somehow your curse will be lifted."
I looked at him, my vision now returned. "You curse me? what a ridiculous sentiment. If I am not allowed to die, then neither are you! I curse you, Zane of Glineth, to never be allowed to die as well. you will forever search for Jane, but you will not find her. you will be a spirit, tearing apart Ebony Hills just to get her, but you wont prevail."
The vein at his throat pulsed. He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out.
"Foolish boy. I love you, but you never loved me. And for that, your blood is mine." I leaned over him, gently kissing his neck. The smell of blood filled the air, suffocating me. My kisses reached the vein, and I felt him relax under me. "You are mine, Zane." My fangs cut into his neck.
