Chapter 1

So here I am in my blue Nissan, driving to the meeting grounds to speak with the Fairies, Oh shoot me now. No that wouldn’t work, it’s not like bullets will kill me, but being shot does hurt like a bitch.

After Jonathan graced us with the wonderful news, everything went to shit. Everyone was in an uproar, Fae screaming and others demanding what meaning of everything was. Well leave it up to me to have asked the right question: who is declaring war and why. Well the who was clear, the why, not so much. Turns out the Pixies and wolves have joined forces to try and overthrow the Fairies and then us when we least expect. But thanks to they’re naturally idiotic, senseless brains their plans were fooled, and we where pre-warned of their so-called devious plan. Devious my Faerie ass.

So with the Pixies and wolves plan fooled we will be coming up with our own devious plan: join forces with the enemy, which they will never expect. We will have the upper hand in taking them out and showing them why we are at the top of the food chain. I just hope that our plan will work and that there will be enough Fairies to contribute to the fight, so let’s hope I don’t kill or maim to many of them. Although it does sound tempting.

“You’re late Fara.” Why thank you Cristiana for pointing that out. “Everyone is waiting for you.” I could see the annoyance in her in her dark blue eyes she hated waiting. She only liked being waited on. Add that to being served on and pampered on. Especially when it came to doing her hair, only the best may touch her dark strawberry blonde hair. I once got hit just for taking a twig out of it after training. It was also the last time I ever helped her.

“And let me guess you were the lucky winner to come and wait for me, I feel honored.”

“It’s more like I was volunteered to come and hurry your ass up.” Ah and there’s the famous hair flip.

“Do I have to, can’t you just go in there and say that I’m not feeling well.” I said taking her hand to press it against my forehead. “Can you feel it I’m practically burning alive. Oh, oh. Is that a light I see? Please don’t forget me Chris my friend who loves me.”I clutched at my chest making coughing noises. “Goodbye.”

“I’m your only friend and enough with the dramatics Fara, you’re not sick, you can’t even get sick. Your immortal remember. Come on before they send someone to find out what’s taking so long.” She said as she started dragging me through corridors to the meeting place.

“You know I’m letting you drag me.” I said teasingly. “Otherwise you would be on your ass after your first step.”

“Keep telling yourself that Fara.” She laughed. “And besides you’re only strong because you’re so old.” She said stopping and taking a lock of my hair into her hand. “Is that a gray hair?”

“What, where?” Taking my hair out of her hand to examine it. “Oh, you think you’re so funny, don’t you.” I huffed when I caught her trying to stifle a laugh. ‘Well your not, and you better watch your back before I singe some hair.”

“You wouldn’t.” she took a few steps back, trailing slowly behind me.

“Try me. And who’s making us late now blondie, and you said I was the onld one?” I started to walk faster trying to get this over as soon as possible.

We made our way down the long ass corridor and waiting by the door was Jonathan; this day just keeps getting better and better.

“Thank you for joining us Fara, Christiana.” Sending a pointed look at me he turned to Chris. “I would have thought that sending you to fetch Fara would speed her journey up, not make both of you more late than she already was.” Turning he walked through the doors and up to a next set of doors, babbling about the importance of being on time and setting a good example to those younger than us. Bla, bla, bla.

I turned my head to the said as I heard Chris snort. “What?” I mouthed.

“I think his parents named him wrong he looks more like a Rudolf to me.” She whispered keeping an eye on old Jonathan. “Don’t you think so, you know Rudolf the red nosed reindeer? Jonathan’s nose gets all red when he is angry, that the color is almost as bright as his orange hair.” She snickered.

I couldn’t help but laugh. Jonathan turned to scold us, but the opening of the doors, which I didn’t even realize we reached, opened. He just gave us a scolding  look and smiled widely entering with us following close behind.

As to be expected the room was divided Fairies on one side and Faeries on the other, both sneering at each other. Both parties’ council members sat facing each other.

Waiting for those to fill the empty chairs on both sides. Ours now filled we we’re

only waiting for one empty chair to be filled and that would be one of theirs. Pfft. Nice, lecture me on tardiness, he should be chastising them. But I really wish that seat doesn’t get filled and that Fae could get sick.

“Well what a pleasant surprise to see you Fara it’s been years” My hackles rose. “What aren’t you going to greet your dear old brother?”

I thought this day couldn’t get any worse. Couldn’t give me a brake could you. This is definitely a bad, bad day.
