ROSIE's OUTFIT
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Mama-
I want to believe her. To have proof that you want to find me. I just miss you all so much. I don't even know why I write, I don't even remember you and daddy that well. I-The book was left behind on the quaint twin as Rosie was laying there, dressed in a thin baby blue shirt and gently huffed out. Her eyes were closed and her pen was slowly rolling out of her hand, showing she had fallen into a deep slumber. Her long dark eyelashes reached her high cheekbones with grace and beauty, all of which are gifts from her parents.
A few moments later, a woman very close to Rosie, known as Edyth Burns entered the room, sighed, and chuckled at the sight of her niece. She grabbed the pen and journal from the bed and placed them back into the end table drawer. She placed the covers over the teenager and kissed her forehead.
~~~Rosie was sleeping silently when she ran from room to room, squealing in delight.
For a 38 year old, she sure could run.
"Rosie! Wake up!" Aunt Edyth immediately ran over the bed post, and climbed over it, sitting next to Rosie.
"Mhmm...." Rosie slowly opened her rounded pale blue eyes and smacked her lips.
"Rose! You're 16!! Get your lazy butt in the kitchen," Edyth said as her eyes started to flutter shut.
"I have so much to plan. What color do you want? Pink? or Blue?"
"um... i want..." Rosie's small frame fell back to her sleeping position and let out a quiet snore. Her sharp features, which she inherited from her father, were showing even more as Aunt Edyth opened up the blinds.
"Always sleepy," Aunt Edyth said, brushing her wild blond waves out of her face.
"Rosie come on! You have to get to school!"
"Aunt E..." Rosie said groggily. "What year is it?"
"Come on! Hop in the shower, birthday girl!" Edyth stripped the comforter off Rosie. She immediately showed discomfort, rolling up into a ball to salvage the last bits of warmth she had from her blankets.
"I'm going to go start on breakfast, okay? " She walked out with a huff, hoping she wouldn't have to go back in there to wake Rosie up. Again.
"M'kay."
Rosie stretched, yawned, and stumbled out of bed.
She walked towards the co-shared bathroom and slid the shower door open. She turned on the water and carefully removed her clothes. Once it was warm enough she stepped into the shower.
A few minutes later, she was getting dressed in a black dress, a scarf, and ankle boots. Once she grabbed her backpack, she ran from the room into the kitchen.
The aroma a certain sweet dish filled her senses.
Oh HELL yeah thought Rosie.
Rosie gasps, "E, my favorite!" She ran towards Edyth and gave her a big hug, "I love you."
"Rose, it's just food," She laughed giving her a light pat on the back.
"Well, isn't it what we live for?" Rosie sat down on a stool waiting for breakfast.
"We eat to live, not live to eat, miss," Edyth said raising her brows and putting her hands on her hips. Rosie copied her aunt in mockery and began eating the cherry muffins, as Edyth's phone began to ring.
"Enjoy, sweetheart. I'll be right back," Edyth smiled and walked towards the loft.
Rosie nodded her head and wiped her full mouth with her napkin.
She heard a faint "hello?" and blabber while she finished up her muffin. She cleaned her dish and brushed her straight white teeth.
The call ended and Edyth walked out of her room just as Rosie grabbed her jacket and began to leave for her first day of her sophomore year.
"Rose wait!" Rosie turned her blond head of waves and looked expectedly towards her.
"Be careful. Please." Edyth swallowed a lump in her throat and looked at her niece indescribably.
"Always," Rosie gave a small smile and walked out, both nervous and excited.
All of which was normal, except the fact she was as naïve as a sheltered teenager.
Oh wait, she is one...
