Kairavi Age 16
Eight years later I stand in my sister’s house with a note in my hand from the castle of SamarthPort.
“Read it out loud Kair.” Bahula begged.
“To all of those inIndia. Tenfin would like to invite you to Prince Henry of Tenfin’s Ball. All ladies and gentlemen who are not married may attend. You and many other country’s ladies will be attending. There will be a Ball tomorrow night in his Majesties honor at thecastleofSamarthPort. The Tenfin’s Ambassador Sir Edward of Tenfin.”
“Oh Kair! You should go.” Bahula practically jumped off the pallet in the floor.
“ Why? I have nothing to wear and it will be nothing but delicate little girls going.”
“Going? Going where?” Sahas, my sister’s husband, walked in.
“Prince Henry’s Ball. Oh Sahas just think my moonlight a princess! But we’ll have to find her a proper sari and..”
“Wait Ba. Did Kairavi want to go?” Sahas turned to me now.
“Not really, just think of all those girls in those dresses.”
“But think of the boys too, Kari. And maybe even dancing with the prince! Or..” I interrupted Bahula
“He doesn’t know any of the dances I know and vice versa.”
“But you are very quick to learn. You could dance to any beat.” Sahas came in for my sister.
“And if you don’t dance just think, My little sister meeting royals!” Ba was quick to point out.
“Well..”
“Oh good! Sahas do you think we can have your mother lend her a sari?”
“I’m sure mother would be glad to. Come along Kair.” He reached out a hand for my sister and motioned for me to fallow.

At the Castle. Henry Age 18.
I leaned against the window ledge looking out at the harbor. Men shouting at one another.
“Lean to far and you just might fall out.” Henry spun around to see his sister, Anna, walk in to the room.
“Anna you have to see this! The view stretches for miles. Unlike home where you can only see to the mountains.”
“Ah I see, You fell in love with the same view I did when I was 12. Do you remember that trip?”
Moonlight’s dark brown eyes and long hair in a braid flashed into my mind. “Not really . I didn’t get far enough away to do some exploring.”
“Oh that’s right, you were always the little explorer.” She pinched my cheek only to have me slap it away and rub my cheek. “Hopefully a women can calm your explorations down. Well that’s what mother and father hope. They sent out an invitation today.”
“An invitation to what?”
“Your ball of course.”
“Not again.”
“Yep. But I must agree with them. Your getting to old to just want to sail around and explore all the time. You need a woman to hold you down on land.”
“But there are plenty of women on ships to hold me down.” I winked at her only to get a look from her.
“Okay you little nasty boy. But we’re serious about this Henry. Its time to settle down, and become a real man."
"And never explore again? I think I'll stay a bachelor, thank you."
"WEll I'm sure there's a girl out there that loves exploring just as much as you. Don't base it off of what you see in court."
" You are one of those girls Anna."
"Yes, only I am more loyal to my country than those pea brains."
"Of course lovely sister." I pat her head and turn to look out the window.
I feel a peck on my cheek and then her close my door. 'Oh Moonlight, where art thou Moonlight?' I turn my head and look up at the now appearing moonlight shining down on the city that holds the most beautiful girl. The Moonlight that out shines the moon itself.
