Chapter 3 (part 1) ~ We meet again!

sorry to those who have had to wait.. i had to go to a conference.. here it is.. and a happy new year!

Kairavi

When Sahas and I arrived, there was dances that already started.

"Now if you need anything, just call for the guard here." Sahas pointed over my shoulder to a man dressed in a tunic and long stick with a flag waving in the light wind. "He can get you a carriage home." He sighed "You do look pretty. And i know that your sister told you to come but just stay at least an hour, okay? Tell Princess Rajeshri that we said hi." I nodded as he kissed my forehead and left.

I turned around and took a deep breath looking at the huge castle. I followed the sound of music and the sea of people.  I walked into a large room with a small platform that had many people with instruments. The room was decorated in reds and golds with symbols that looked like a star made from fish tails. 

"Kairavi!" I turned to see the Princess wave at me from her spot next to the kings and queens. 

I waved back but she waved me over to her. "Yes Princess?" I bowed to her and her parents plus the visiting royals.

"Kairavi, This is Anna. She is the princess from Tenfin. Anna this is Kairavi." Rajeshri gave the introductions.

"Nice to meet you." i bowed again to the visiting princess

"Enchante, so how are you and Raje so close?" The Princess asked looking from me to Rajeshri.

"Well she saved me from the last invasion of Turkey."

"No offense honey but you don't look like a person who should be involved in war."

"Oh she did dressed like a man. To think its been a year since I've seen you. You need to come to the palace when this is done."

"Uh... I'm sorry princess but I can't. My sister would probably worry."

"Oh pity! She is wonderful company." She told Anna.

I bowed. "Thank you princess. Now if you do not mind i would love to dance."

"Oh please don't let me stop you! I love when you dance." I excused myself.

Anna 

"She looks so young" I turned to Rajeshri, as the girl turned away.

"Yeah but she's 16 not to much younger than us." I gasped at how short her hair is. "Yeah, I almost cried when she told me she had to cut it to be male. If you ask me its very heroic. She did it to get money for her and her sister. Did you know she used to be a street rat. I would never had known she would do something so illegal."

"Just wait till Henry catches sight of her." I giggled into my palm with the Princess. "He would love a women who could fight probably just as good as himself."

The Princess' eyes widen and look at me. "What a fabulous idea Anna." 

"I was only kidding, Princess."

"I wasn't." She stood and took off in the direction of my brother. I raced after her but was to late when Rajeshri grabbed my little brother's arm away from a very pretty blond.

Henry

"Uh.. Hello Princess Rajeshri." I bowed as Lady Melissa curtsy from beside me.

"Prince Henry. Lady Melissa." She bowed her head to both of us. "Henry may i speak with you." Anna raced up beside us. Anna shrugged as i gave her a confused look.

"Yes Princess." I turned to Lady Melissa, "Please excuse me Lady Melissa, I'm afraid that dance will have to wait."

"It's no problem Your Highness." She curtsy and lefted with a humph. I shrugged my shoulders and turned to my sister and Raj.

"What's wrong?" I asked scared to find the reason.

"Her." Raj flicked her hand in the air as if dismissing the thought. "Oh never mind. I want you to meet a dear friend of mine. Follow me." Raj took off in a fast pace. Anna grabbed my hand and urged me to follow the half way sane princess.

"You like her." My sister said over her shoulder. "She's a splendid dancer. She has caught on every dance here." I nodded.

Raj turned to motion us to move faster through the crowded room. We finally stopped behind Stephen the Duke of Ashken who danced with a young lady.

"Excuse me Stephen," Rajeshri tapped on the man's shoulder.

He took a deep bow. "Princess Rajeshri, Princess Anna and Prince Henry, what may I help you with."

Raj only nodded her head. "We would like to talk to Kairavi in private."

Kairavi.. That sounds very familiar. 

"Ah, Of course Your Highness." He inclined his head to Raj. Then turned to the girl, "I'm sorry that our dance had to end so soon. We must dance again." He touched the back of the girl's hand to his lips.

"Yes sir. We must." Her voice was light and sounded of a heavy Indian accent. Stephen bowed to us once more then took his leave.

I watched him make his way through the crowd the same way we had come.

 "Henry?"

"Yes Princess Rajeshri?" I turned my focus back to her and a girl who was no younger than sixteen years.

"It's my pleasure to introduce you to Kairavi. She's a dear friend." She waved her hand to the beautiful deep brown eyed girl. I nodded to her. She seemed very familiar. Strange she didn't have a title, therefore i couldn't have met her at one of my parents' famous balls. I leaned to kiss her hand but when I grabbed her small hand with painted henna on her hand, my hand tingled slightly. It was nothing compared to when my lips touched the back of her hand. 

"Kairavi?" The words felt so comfortable on my slightly tingly lips. I stood up to see she only reached the height of my shoulder. I may be a tall six foot and things seemed short to me. She was most definitely short. 

She took a small cursty, her anclets that circled her ankles then a a gold string with ruby and diamonds go down the length of her foot and end and wrap around her toe. "Your highness."

"Prince Henry. Your highness makes me sound like a ruler." She stood again her small slightly pink lips made and "O" but no sound came out. 

"Ask her to dance." I heard Anna whispered to me. I had been so distracted by Kairavi's beauty I forgot of Anna and Princess Raj.

I nodded and licked my lips "Um.. Kairavi? Would you like to dance with me next song?"

She shyly nodded. Lucky for me the song currently playing ended. 

I took her hand, ignoring the tingles, and lead her away from my sister and Raj.
