Beyond the Tears
Up out of the valley we climb, stumbling , weary, clawing and crawling out of the darkness. A few more scars and bruises we now bear, some external, most internal. But overshadowing the pain is the strength and wisdom we have gained, the faith that has grown from our journey.
If it were up to us, we would walk many miles out of our way to avoid the valleys that appear along the road of life. But thanks to God, it is not up to us to always choose the easy path or to walk the hard paths alone, for without His guidance, as we traverse the valleys, we would get lost and wander in darkness forever.
Gracefully, that is not His plan. He helps us up the hills and out of the valleys, at times carrying us when we can no longer walk ourselves. Then and only then may we again experience the happiness of life and bask in the glowing fellowship with God.
