I swim and twirl around the tank in front of many wonder-eyed tourists at the aquarium I live at.

It's the same everyday. Wake up, get a pep-talk from the workers, and entertain the guests at the aquarium.

My parents rarely visit, my dad doesn't care and doesn't let my mom visit often since he thinks I'm a "mistake" and just an "experiment".

Just another experiment.

I swim close up to the glass and press my hands against it where a young girl no older than five is pressing hers, I can see her giggle through the glass.

She moves her hands around on the glass and I mimic her, getting amused glances from the others gathered around.

I look up to see the familiar rippling of the water on the surface, and turn to see the wall that seperated me from the ocean.

The ocean was real pretty, after closing up I would rest my arms on the top of the wall and watch the sunset play out before me.

Why not just jump over the walls to my sweet escape? They hung a tag on my fin with an implanted tracker, so I really can't leave without being tracked down and punished.

I swam above the girl and got a look of the crowd, a flash of blonde caught my eye. I turned to the side to see a blond boy around my age with a book held tight to his chest, he was right near the glass watching me like everyone else.

I smiled and swam up to him and examined his features, he had the bluest eyes I'd ever seen. Large ones at that. They looked like the bright sky on the most beautiful of days.

It's hard to believe you could get eyes so blue, he smiled softly and I could feel my heart race up at the sight of him. He was pretty cute.

What am I thinking? I can't possibly like him that way!

"Attention guests, the aquarium will be closing in ten minutes. Please make your way to the main entrance. I repeat, the aquarium will be closing in ten minutes." I hear the familiar voice of the marine biologist, Casey, talking over the speakers.

I sighed in relief, no more pictures, no more stares, no more of that cute blond boy. I swim up and rested my arms on the top of the cement wall as the crowds lessened and almost vanished, all but that boy.

I swam back down and looked at him, he seemed interested in me. He was acually studying me, most people just take a glance and admire me for existing while he was looking over my every detail.

One of the marine biologists came over to him and began speaking to him, the soundproof glass not helping me figure out what they were saying.

The blond boy began following her to the back doors for employees only, he worked here? I began swimming over to where the biologists worked, it was sectioned off and I had to swim between a wide entrance.

I broke the surface to the inside of their lab where they run tests on my water and on my scales to make sure everything in normal.

The marine biologist that was talking to the boy, Aria, came over to me and crouched down and ruffled my hair, the boy a few steps behind her, watching.

"Everything good down there for ya, Eren?" She asked and I nodded.

"Good." Aria said before standing up.

She motioned torwards the blond boy. "This is Armin Arlert. His grandfather fishes and he brings the fish here for the animals!" She said, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"It's nice to meet you, Armin." I said and held out a hand for him to shake, he looked at my hand before hesitantly taking it and giving it a slight shake.

I gave him a dorky grin and his face seemed to heat up, and was turning red. I tilted my head to the side.

Maybe he's sick?

I gave my shoulders a slight shrug before descending under the water and going to my tank space, I broke the surface and swam to the wall.

I propped my elbows on the cement and rested my head in my hands, staring off into the horizon.
