Lia's P.O.V

"Michele would you please- Awh fuck, ugh."

"Ross. Calm down please."

"The- the uhm PAPERS! Yes uhm. Sign thi- oh hi Lia. Hi. Hello."

By the looks of what just happened, I now believe people's sayings of therapist being somehow clumsy, lonely, weird...I just saw it.

His sophisticated walk was replaced by a casual, chilling one that suddenly dropped down to the floor where papers flew everywhere around the room.

"I already regret this," I heard dad whisper underneath his hitched breath.

All of this, hidden behind a very huge building with an enormous office, consuming an entire floor, surrounded by glass, owned by the one of most famous therapists in this country.

But I actually like this.

I like the clumsy, hair pulling, paper messing Lynch.

I finally knew I was never alone.

"Mr. Lynch, I uhm, know you're busy and all," dad paused, scratching the back of his head awkwardly, "and that it's already Friday but she was literally begging me for this. I uh-"

"She asked for this?!" The girl I assumed was Michelle, asked clearly surprised by the words.

What kind of kid would beg for a therapy lesson?

Oh that's me.

"Wow," was all he muttered, before running a hand through his blond locks again. "Th-this is, that's something you NEVER see."

"I was going to ask for an appointment of maybe later on, because by the looks of it you're pretty occupied with all of these customers...so-"

"No, no, no, no, we can actually- we can start right now if she'd li- would you like? Lia?"

How does he know my name?

I've been going to the same school since first grade and people there barely know what to call me.

"If that's not a bother..?" I shyly replied earning a smile from him. He walked over to us, the pile of papers still grasped in his hands, his heavy breaths covering the awkward-non-awkward atmosphere.

"Of course it's not, I would just like if you'd sign, right here," he handed the pen to dad, making him glance at me to give that 'are you sure you want to do this?' Look, a concerned expression suddenly taking over his face.

I quietly, and slowly nodded, before his hand worked swiftly on the signing up sheet.

"When should I come and pick her up?"

"In two hours."

This is actually happening.

"Why so worried?" I saw him smile genuinely at me, and my trembling, worried self. "Oh god. No, no. You have nothing to worry about, I promise, alright? Shall we get in?"

I felt dad slowly give my hand a squeeze before I flashed him a smile, leaving it to get on with Mr. Lynch.

I was still a shy child who held her father's hand in public, aware of people's eyes. My young self never left.

I followed the tall blonde into the huge, sliding, wooden door, feeling my worries fly off the huge window right as I saw the very relaxing view.

A few portraits were hung on the walls, some underneath the desk, others bellow the book shelf; simply scattered.

One big lounging chair, and two couches on each side, with a softly lit lamp.

"Let's just chill on the couch," he left his papers on the desk, while I let my backpack drop to the ground.

"Do you guys need anything before I leave?" Michelle peeked through the door making him whip his head to her direction, smiling with his white, pearly teeth bare.

"No, just be careful, driving on the roads, and walk safely."

She flashed me a smile before leaving the huge room. I walked over to the couch and sat down.

"So, Lia, tell me about yourself," his body rested beside me, two coffee mugs held in his big hands.

"I'm Lia, a normal tenth grader...I live with my father, in a decent sized house."

"Only your father?" He inquired, handing me one of the mugs.

"Yes. It's been like that since forever."

"Oh," his smile dropped, a hidden pout covering his face. "Was it, like, a divorce?"

"No, I was just a mistake..."

I've always been a mistake.

"Don't say that. Never say that. You were just an unexpected gift," his way of talking brought warmth down my body and I immediately smiled, feeling the urge to gain a hug.

And right on queue, he chuckled, setting the mug on the table to lean his body on mine. His arms opened wide and I was taken into comfort by his hand, patting my back slowly before o set the big to hug him back.

"Don't ever be shy to ask for a hug. Especially from me."
