the rest of the day was pretty easy. they had quick glances and smiles in the halls between passing. and didn't see each other until they got out of sixth period.
phils pov: I really should be focusing on school. it's literally the first day and already I've found my newest topic for my late night fics. well. whatever. I doubt he even has the same feelings for m- oh, there he is. were we supposed to walk there together??? oh well.
dan's pov: I can't do this. I can't do this to him. I can't let him date or fall for a person like me. I'm sure he plays for my team. but like. ag-
they smiled at each other and dan nervously scratched the back of his neck and blushed when Phil said hi υgн нιѕ νσι¢є ιѕ ѕσ ∂яєαму "hey Dan" Phil said while turning as bright a red as the girl's jacket who was so bright it caught dans attention while she walked past. "heya phil. how was class?" Phil looked down at his shoes and Dan immediately noticed. "that bad?" Phil nodded. Dan carefully put his arm around phils shoulders in attempts to comfort him.
phil's pov: oh shit oh shit oh shit he put his arm around me is he even gay oml please be gay he's so sweet and asked how my day was and he smiled at me and omg
dans pov: he had a bad day. did those guys come up to him again?! I'll fuck them up. that's not okay. I don't understand why they do that. well. that's something for another time. I've got my arm around this beautiful boy and I'm gonna try to make the most of it.
phil started blushing like crazy and slid his arm around dans waist and gently toyed with his book bag strap. after a while of walking, and a few stares they just brushed off because they were too happy to be bothered with it, they got to the coffee shop. the coffee shop wasn't your average shop with just some tables. it has isles of books. they got coffees and went to a table in the back in a corner surrounded by books. "okay so um, Phil, I have something to tell you before we go on because I've lost many friends over this.." while Dan said this Phil slowly slid his hand into dans and laced their fingers, when he finished speaking he looked up at him "yes Dan? I know we just met but you can tell me anything" Dan smiled at the thought because that meant Phil trusted him as well. "I'm um, I'm gay" Dan said while softly squeezing phils hand. "well. I guess now is a better time than ever to tell you I am too" Phil said while smiling and kind of giggling. they sat there holding hands for a bit until Phil got a text from his dad "I͓̽M͓̽ I͓̽N͓̽ T͓̽H͓̽E͓̽ P͓̽A͓̽R͓̽K͓̽I͓̽N͓̽G͓̽ L͓̽O͓̽T͓̽, H͓̽U͓̽R͓̽R͓̽Y͓̽ O͓̽U͓̽T͓̽" Phil sighed and looked over at Dan "hey, I'm sorry, my dad is here", he put his contact in dans phone and put a heart next to his name, "text me when you get home?" Dan smiled and nodded. Phil softly kissed his cheek before standing up and going outside.
they texted all night long. no doubt cheesy pick up lines and awkward fails.
