The first attempt : Invasion

Chapter 4

Hadrian
My eyes suddenly snapped open when my ears comprehended the sound of the blaring alarm . I groggily reached over and pressed the snooze button before I threw my legs over the side of the bed and sat up straight  .

I rubbed my eyes and stretched until I was satisfied. I looked around and my vision slowly faded in . There were meek rays of morning sun slipping through the gap in the curtain , shedding light on my surroundings. Xavier was still fast asleep and snoring. Heavy sleepers , I didn't get how they could do that , I usually woke up with the slightest movement .

I checked my digital alarm clock , the numbers 5:30 were flickering in neon green . I really needed to get new batteries. I slowly got up and stretched a little more before stumbling towards my bathroom. We actually had two bathrooms so that we needn't 'waste time' every morning. Whatever I was just happy I didn't have to knock fifty times before I got to take my shower . I opened the the black door that led to my bathroom and stood in front of the mirror .

I turned on the tap and splashed the Arctic cold water on my face and washed it . When I wiped my face I finally felt awake , so I got to brushing my teeth. After I was done I looked at my self in the mirror and ran a wet hand through my hair . It stood up straight and spiky , satisfied,I went  out and got a loose long sleeve blue hoodie, a grey shirt and black jeans  then I went back into the bathroom to change .

By the time I was done some pieces of hair were falling over my eyes making it look messy all over again . I just rolled my eyes at my hair's disobedience, too lazy to use hair gel and actually make it stay up . When I walked out of the bathroom Xavier was gone so I assumed he was in the washroom and got to making my bed . By the time I was done it was already 6 am .
I know that it was still very early but what can I do , I'm an early bird. Now that I'm thinking about it I am also a night owl which probably is the reason for the bags under my eyes .Plus Henry had a super tight schedule if I got up any later he wouldn't have been available, just that he had to review all the advanced recruits and then jet off to London to check the facilities there .

I ran a hand through my hair to push it out of my eyes but it just fell back . I got my sneakers out of the shoe rack and quickly pulled them on before I got even more late . I really wanted to wait for Xave but if waited any longer Henry would have steam blowing out of his nostrils.

Locking the door behind me I walk out towards Sydney's room. The sun had already come out , so there were long rays of sunshine falling in through the big window at the end of the corridor. I didn't really know where the building was , I just knew the few entrances that led to it .

Through the window I always saw trees, animals and birds , never people. I remember thinking that this was peculiar when I first came here, I had sat there for the whole day , hoping that someone would pass by. I had seen all kinds of wild animals, I even spotted a few wild birds.
I reached the door and number 103 greeted me in shining gold calligraphy. I rang the door bell beside it and shrill ,electronic scream echoed thrice . Anne opened the door , She was already dressed in her long oversized white coat . She greeted me with a grin and I responded with raised eyebrows. In all the years that I was friends with her Anne had never greeted me with a smile , it was always just an eye roll .

I knew that I got on to her nerves but she had always made it clear that I could count on her that's why we were best friends. It had been at least thirty seconds and she was still smiling.
What was she so happy about ? "Xave came by a few minutes earlier " she gushed still smiling " he took both Sydney and Hera to the dining room for breakfast ."

"Ohoooooo, that explains what you're so happy about." I stated with awith a wide smirk .
"Heyyy, what's that supposed to mean ?" She argued, her smile instantly transformed into a frown .
" Xave asked you out , didn't he ?" I asked widening my smirk.
"How did you know that ?" She exclaimed. Her eyes had gotten wide and her mouth opened up in unmasked shock .
" Because I'm a love guru ." I informed with a wink . She rolled her eyes and punched my arm .
