Rosa POV
*FLASHBACK*
Christmas eve 1856
“Rosa, Annetta come along” my papa shouted up the stairs.
“Patients Marco” Mamma called down.
“Lucinda dear, can you pass me that necklace that is on the bed” Maria asked. Lucinda nodded then handed over the beautiful necklace that was to go around my neck.
“I forgot something in my room, Lucinda come with me please” I smiled. She nodded again then I walked out of my parents room without any questions from my mamma.
“What did you forget Rosa” Lucinda asked.
“I never forget anything Luc, you should know that” I laughed then knelt down and retrieved a box from under my bed.
“so why are we making your family even later for the founding family Christmas meal?” she asked.
“Merry Christmas Luc” I smiled handing her the box.
“Rosa, you shouldn’t have” she gasped.
“I wanted to” I shrugged. We both sat on the bed and I watched as she quickly unwrapped it. Inside was a book of different fairy tales.
“I love it Rosa, thank you” she grinned then gave me a quick hug.
“Miss Rosa, you ready to leave” Maria asked, knocking on my door.
“coming” I jumped off the bed and straightened my dress out before walking over to the door and opening it. My mamma was already walking down the stairs so I quickly walked over to her so I wouldn’t be far behind her.
Standing at the bottom of the stairs was the one person I always love to see.
“Master Damon” I grinned and offered my hand to him. He took it and kissed it lightly.
“you look beautiful Miss Rosangela” he smirked, knowing that I was close to bursting into fits of laughter.
“and you look rather handsome tonight Master Damon” I countered. Just as he was about to say something else, his father and Stefan walked out of the living room with my own papa.
“may I escort you to the Gilbert house Miss Rosangela” Damon asked, offering his arm to me.
“Certainly Master Damon” I smiled, took his arm and then watched as my mamma and papa, his father and Stefan all walked out of the house.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
Christmas eve Present
I heard the front door open as I poured myself another large glass of Bourbon. I don’t know why I was even bothering with the glass, I intended to drink the whole bottle anyway.
“Hey Rosa, what’s up” Stefan asked. I ignored him and downed the Bourbon.
“Rossi, what’s up” he repeated. He frowned as I gave him the ‘fuck off’ look, but sat next to me anyway.
“w-” He began and I turned around and glared at him.
“you ask me 'what’s up' one more time and I am going to smash your pretty little face in Stefan” I snapped, got up and walked off, out of the house.
