Sadie Patterson knew her best friend slash roommate was lying. She slumped onto her bed and dragged her laptop from the ground, placing it on her lap. It was time she did some research on this Maya Hart who obviously has some kind of hold over Lucas. After several minutes of research Sadie gathered that Maya is a contemporary artist who had several successful art shows in Paris making her rather famous there. Apparently she was back in New York to work on her latest project and according to facebook she might permanently return to New York.

The blonde smiled into her laptop screen in victory. Now she can continue her plot to bring Lucas and Maya, or Lucaya as she preferred, back together. After seeing Maya's picture on facebook she knew Lucaya would make a handsome couple. One of those good looking couples who'd make everyone jealous.

She grabbed her phone from the desk on the side of her bed and sent a thank you text to Mr. Matthews for agreeing to go along with the plan. The urgent text message in the middle of a date thing was a brilliant idea. Once Farkle begged for Sadie's help she told Mr. Matthews she had a plan to bring together her friend and the legendary blonde beauty. Mr. Matthews agreed to it because he has been rooting for Lucaya ever since the weird triangle thing.

Sadie clutched her phone to her chest, sighing. After being disinherited she thought her scheming days were over but now she knows it isn't and this was going to be her biggest scheme yet. She was determined to bring color back to Lucas' life even if it meant she had to play with fire.

Monday morning came and the roommates were all snapped back into reality. The reality they've been living for the past four years, the one where Riley and Maya were in Paris drinking champagne on top of the Eiffel tower. Unfortunately for Sadie, that reality was a bitter one. That reality was about the time when she realized who she truly is which is also the reason her parents decided to cut her off.

These days Sadie worked as a waitress at Topanga's. Sadie was grateful Mrs. Matthews had offered her the job because she couldn't afford to pay her share of the rent without this job. Her coworker, Katy Hunter was an amazing woman who taught her everything she needed to know about waitressing. She admired her hard work and perseverance.

Sadie stood by the counter and watched one by one customers walk in and ordered their regulars. She then became nostalgic to the days when she was the one people serve food and beverages for and to the days where she would flirt with the hot waitresses.

"Hey Sadie," Katy called, walking over to Sadie. "My daughter Maya is home from Paris and she's coming over. Can you please look after her while I work? She'll be the blonde with the pretty brunette following her around."

Her jaw almost dropped once she heard the name Maya and the word Paris in a sentence. "Wait, Maya's your daughter?" the girl asked in a bewildered state. The woman nodded. "I thought you only had one daughter, Hope right?"

"Maya's my daughter from my first husband. She's been working on her art in Paris and finally she decides to come home," Katy said, checking the cash machine. "I miss her more than anything. You'll understand once you have children."

Yeah right, Sadie thought. Her parents were probably happy they had gotten rid of her. Not only did Sadie grew up in a wealthy family but they were also those overly judgmental Christian conservatives. The day Sadie came out to them they were absolutely flabbergasted. Her mother started crying and her father started throwing things, signs that indicated they were absolutely furious.

The day after they sent Sadie to a mental institution so that she could be cured of her lesbianism. She escaped the institution but by then her parents have already changed the will leaving all their wealth to Sadie's cousin Sarah. She tried begging for her parents to take her back but it was hopeless, they've made up their minds. They were disappointed in her and she spent weeks blaming herself.

"What do you want me to do exactly?" Sadie asked for clarification.

"She needs a friend other than Riley Matthews and I would love for you to just sit and talk," Katy clarified with a handful of cash on her hands. "I think you and my daughter would hit it off."

Sadie tried her best not to smile. Spending time with Maya was perfect for her scheme. She could finally learn who the true Maya Hart is. Not the version her best friend has told her. Also it would give her scheme the extra push it needed.

"Sure, I'll do it," Sadie said casually, leaning on the counter. "What's your daughter like?"

"She's blonde with blue eyes just like us," Katy answered, putting down the handful of cash on the cash register. "Except she's shorter. Heck in comparison to you she's like a hobbit."

Sadie chuckled. She has always been recognized for her height some modeling agencies have even come up to her and asked if she had any interest in becoming a runway model. Maybe she should reconsider their offer considering her current economic state.

"Can't help that I'm a giant." Sadie joked.

She then continued to clean the counter and waited for Maya and Riley. She sat down on the stool in silence, fiddling with her fingers. The door opened followed by the sound of a bell. Two girls walked in, a blonde and a brunette hand in hand. Sadie thought the blonde looked familiar, then she realized it was Maya Hart.

The two girls walked to the counter as if they were looking for someone. "Have you seen Katy Hunter?" Maya asked, making eye contact with Sadie.

"You must be Maya Hart," Sadie replied instead. "I'm Sadie your mom told me to look after you. Sort of like a babysitter but maybe an adult sitter since we're both adults and all."

Maya stared at Sadie uncomfortably with an eyebrow arched. "Okay... Normally I'd give you my name but you already know that. Nice to meet you, this is my friend Riley," she said, gesturing her thumb at the pretty brunette behind her. "Wherever she goes I follow."

"I used to have a friend like that once." Sadie admitted, her mind spiraling elsewhere.

"What happened to her?" Riley, the brunette, asked.

"I don't think you guys would be interested in knowing why." Sadie said, chuckling by the end of her sentence.

"Now I wanna know," Maya said, sitting on the stool. "We have time to waste, don't we Riles?"

Riley looked at Maya then Sadie. "Yes. Yes we do."
