Chapter 18 - "Are You Okay"s and "I Love You"s

ALLY'S POV

I gasp, holding my throbbing cheek.

My ears are ringing but I can still hear shouts around the room.

Taylor is frozen in front of me, a look of shock and guilt plastered over his face.

He looks at me.

Suddenly, I hear a yell.

"You fucking bastard." It's Hayes.

He comes striding towards Taylor, gently pushing me back and raises his first.

Just before his hand hits Taylor, I grab Hayes's fist, yelling "no!"

I place an arm around Hayes and gently pull him backwards.

"Don't, please," I whisper. "I'm fine."

I don't know why I stopped him. Taylor deserves it.

He reaches out to me but I pull back.

"Ally, I-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean-"

I snap.

"Oh yes, the first fucking time you call me by my name. Uh, sorry I thought I was 'slut' or 'whore' to you?"

Taylor's face turns red and his head turns to the floor.

"I swear I didn't mean to hit you," he says quietly. He looks as if he's about to cry.

I stare at him.

"But you did."

Silence.

"Dude, if you fucking touch her again I fucking swear to God I-"

Hayes strides forward again and Nash has to hold him back.

He gently pulls him backwards and towards the corner of the room to calm down.

I stand there, doing nothing.

Everyone else is standing in shock.

So I turn and leave.

I go to the bathroom, splashing cool water on my face.

And then I look at myself in the mirror.

I light bruise forming over my red skin.

I touch it, wincing in pain.

Then there's a knock on the door. I open it to see Aaron. I open my mouth but I'm too surprised to say anything.

Why am I surprised? He's my bestfriend.

"Ally, oh my God are you okay?" He says worriedly, placing his hands on my face.

I wince and he pulls back.

"Oh I'm so so sorry, oh shit, oh shit," he rambles on and I smile at his cuteness.

"Look at your face! It's turning purple. Do you need to go to the hospital? I can take you if you want? Or I can get Bart. Or we could-"
